I have 3 pairs of 2 kg ankle weights, and by fastening them together to one side of my bells, I can increase my 24 kg to 26, 28 or 30 kg, even for 2 arms cleans and presses, smoothening the transition to the 32 kg. And as noted previously, the cleaner your clean, the bigger and safer your press. Keep your shoulder down by focusing on pushing yourself away from the bell instead of pushing it away from you. Try Tsatsouline's ETK : it has great tips for learning the basic kb moves... Power to you!
Here is a suggestion from Steve Cotter, I am using in my own training : if you want to increase the weight of a kettlebell, use soft ankle weights. For any exercises where you clean the bell close to your shoulder, put all the extra weight on the side of the handle away from you, for other exercises, try to balance the same amount of weight on each sides of the handle. That way, you can implement progressive resistance in your kettlebell training.
I agree. That was quite possibly the worst clean and press ever, but don't give up! You have good strength, but work on your breathing, and your cleans. Because take it from a first hand experience, if you continue training that way, your going to tear a rotator cuff and then won't be able to train to your full potential.
tit, thats too heavy for you, surprised you dont injure yourself. lighten it so you can do 12.
