  • Disgusting what gets done to these dogs. If there is a Hell, there's got to be a place in it where uncaring dog breeders suffer all of the health effects and deformities that their dogs suffered while they were alive. Then they'd realize the full extent of the suffering and horror they brought into the world through love of profit.

  • 6.27 to 6.40 Theres an old saying . "running away is akin to admitting guilt." And the silence was deafening. Mandy, thanks for posting these videos.

  • It's like dog breeders never took 10th grade science.

Or, more likely, it's all about money. Dog breeders line breed so they get valuable dogs that win awards and sire more litters, and dog shows get fees too. Ugh.

  • This reminds me of Chinese foot binding which began as early as 937 AD - widely practiced and believed to be sexually appealing to men, amongst many other stupid and ignorant believes. The numerous negative effects of foot binding were simply ignored - and there were many unsuccessful attempts to stop the practice until it was banned by new Republic of China government in 1912. I wonder how long it will take for the K.Club idiots to realize how ridiculous they have been.

  • thank you for putting these videos out there. Unfortunately too few of us breeders care enough to change. Perhaps videos like this will help spread awareness of the problem and force the kennel clubs and the breeders to put more effort in.

  • thank you so much for posting your videos. i watched every single one today when i came across them. as a personal victim of kennel club breeding, i find this information very disturbing. my beloved "son of champ" golden retriever had to be put down at the age of nine due to a genetic condition. today i am the proud owner of a shelter rescue jack russell/chihuahua mix. an intelligent, healthy muscular energetic dog. kennel club breeders should be locked up for making man's best friend suffer...

  • @TheMunchieZzz im a member of the kennel club for breeding my dogs and showing them so what is should be locked up. Not all of us have looks as our main goal i care about the health of my dogs all my dogs are tested by a vet and i don t breed any dog that has genetic problems or any problems for a matter of fact. Also with that being said that is why im considered a top breeder so for your comment i find it insulting and ignorant to involve all breeders of the kennel club

  • @goldwell2010

If a member of a neo nazi group that promotes eugenics told you that they are not doing anything bad themselves, would you still hold them responsible for the evil their group represents? Of course you would.

You are, unfortunately a part of the machine that doesn't care about anything other than profit at the cost of millions of suffering dogs. No amount of lying to yourself is going to change the fact that YOU are helping this disease along. I hope you sleep well.

  • @MandyLionWWIII well i sleep very well at night because my dogs a perfectly healthy i have not come across any unhealthy dogs that i have breed and i take pride in that. Also i am not in it for profit im into breeding to keep the boxer breed going and because im in love with the breed. For your comment on eugenics its not always such a horrible thing depending on how far you take it. I would have to say in one sense that i practice it but not for the look of the but for the health of the dog

  • @goldwell2010

I noticed you purposely ignored my question and went right to painting yourself in the best possible light.

    I will ask again:

WOULD YOU BELIEVE SOMEONE WHO IS AN ACTIVE PART IN A NEO NAZI ORGANIZATION IF THEY TOLD YOU THAT THEY HAVE NOTHING BUT THE BEST INTENTIONS???

You're a part / supporting an organization which not only condones dogs suffering but encourages it no matter how much bull and denial you dish up.

You sound JUST like what I expect from an AKC breeder.

  • So, how do you get a real dog?

  • Thank you for posting this. I hope though, that this doesn't encourage people to breed designer dogs (or other not fancy named mixes) because any breeding that isn't smartly and carefully done can yield bad results. Mixes may or may not have the same problems as pure bred dogs but have their own sets of problems.

  • the most important documentary about man's best friend ever!!..

  • Even if only half of this is true, it's a clear sign things need to change quite radically. Take a hundred breeders and have them cross-breed their dogs with different breeds, or better yet: with so-called mongrels. Take the puppies that best resemble the original breed from 150 years ago and go on from there. At the very least you'd get happier, healthier dogs.

And if that doesn't work, you can always take some wolves and start over. Dogs as a species haven't been around that long, so...

  • UK Breeders and the kennel club have a long way to go! I get sad when i realized how manny idiots UK have // Swede

  • I had no idea that breeding dogs were this bad. Good to know. Information is power. I never had a dog, still don't and wouldn't want one but I still feel for their useless suffering because of selfish people. Oh and on top of all this, pure bred animals whom have genetic problems as it seems are sooooo freaking expensive. Just makes no sense. And I always found the boxer's flat face to be very ugly and almost disgusting looking. The earlier line were actually handsome.

  • Thanks for posting these. Watched the first few parts in a lecture at Uni, but unable to finish. Regards Andrew

  • Cavaliers are such beautiful, sweet dogs, you would think they would do the right thing and try to save this breed from ruin. Unfortunately, it will probably have to come down to legislation as they will continue to willfully ignore and breed those with SM.

  • they dont care about the dog itself but on how it looks and serve them not knowing the pain it suffers from diseases. insensitive.

  • the only reason all the caviler breeders hate that good carin woman is because they know shes rite

  • ...and thats why you dont have anal sex with your kids, easy as that

  • Thank you very much for posting all the videos. I have never liked pedegree dogs because I believe that every dog (as every person) is different, so I don't see the point of trying to have a dog that looks exactly as another one. Now I have more good reasons to support adoption instead of buying breeded dogs.

  • Thankyou so much for posting this. This is something everyone needs to see.

I just rescued a 4 yr old purebred Dachshund. A newbie owner I bought books about Dachshund care. I was horrified to learn that 1/4 of all dachshunds will have paralyzing or life threatening spinal disk injury in their life. My vet has informed me that this is a genetic problem and related to the length of his body and there is not much I can do to prepare or prevent this.

We should be breeding for health not aesthetics!

  • That disliked cavalier breeder reminded me of a samoyed breeder who was trimming the fur of their dogs to hide physical faults. Why the hell would you do that?! What good does that do for the gene pool?

  • i wanna kill those people who are breeders and dont even care about dogs health... honestly.....i give two options: sterilizing or adopcion

  • people who studied to be vet, loves animal(dogs)

people who studied how to breed dogs for show, loves money.

those show's dogs look at their breeders and says, "i love you for what you had given me". But breeders look at their show's dogs and says, "I love you for what i had created", a defect? WAKE UP KENNEL CLUB!

  • Thank you for posting this. I knew there were problems, but I didn't know how extensive they were. It was very informative.

  • I wonder how these breeds will look like 500 years from now. It just scares me to peices.

  • I wonder how these breeds will look like 500 years from now. so sad.

  • them breeding is like.. people who have aids and know it having sex with other people and infecting them..

  • Wow! What an informative documentary - thank you so much for uploading it. I've always wanted to go to Crufts - I don't now!

  • 6:35 old bags walking away - I want to give them to a caucasian ovcharka to play with them

  • 6:35 old bags walking away - I want to give them to a cacausian ovcharka to play with them

  • Thanks for posting this. I thought I had an idea of what went on, but was I wrong! So informative. I had no idea how bad the problem really was. I have a totally new outlook on the dog shows and breeding now. Adoption should be the new standard!!

  • @cleongatl

Adoption is VERY important but it is not the solution to the problem.

The only way we are going to fix this problem in the long run is forcing breeders to change their focus from breeding for a certain look with no regard to a dog's health to breeding for health and function first and let form follow.

Breeding is not the problem... Breeding for pointless ideals with no foundation in reality is what we are fighting here.

People should adopt or they should ONLY buy functional pups.

  • @MandyLionWWIII Totally agree with this. Whenever I look for a new dog I check rescues, and also breeders who work their dogs. It's amazing how much better dogs from working lines stand up to everything life throws at them. Function > form.

  • Does anyone know if the AKC addresses these problems better than the UK?

  • They do not...

The problem is very straight forward... Whenever you make "looks" more important than health you end up with sick dogs.

Breeding in itself is not a bad thing. Breeding, if done for the right reasons and the right intentions would actually produce healthier dogs. But when people come up with bizarre ideas on how they want a dog to look and follow that path regardless of what it does to the animal you end up with a nation of dogs that have mild to severe problems in record numbers

  • Sorry to hear that. I used to breed Huskies on a small scale (and not for show) and loved my dogs.

I was totally aghast when the guy defended a crippled Shepard as the anatomically "correct" animal. That's an amazing case of willful ignorance if ever I've heard it..... and I have.

  • @BenjPhotoDotCom

I agree... That guy is simply a criminal.

  • What? why wont she have her dogs scanned. My pugs breeder had xrays etc done on parents and litter to see if they were healthy enough to be sellable but it really should be necessary!

  • @Wtflolyay

I think it is obvious why she won't do that...

If a breeder has nothing to hide of course they will prove that their dogs are healthy.

But this "person" obviously breeds for money ONLY. Having her bad practices exposed means less cash in her pockets.

Any breeder who is not willing to have the pups checked by a vet BEFORE you take the dog home has something to hide.

Do NOT buy from breeders who refuse to let a vet check them before they are sold or you will buy a heart break.

  • Refuse to buy purebred dogs. Hit them where they understand it, in their wallets. Ask about dogs that more closely resemble the standards of the 1800's. Get them thinking about their bottom line..money.

  • I was very impressed by this documentary, I was coming to realise a lot of it myself with my terribly sick boxer and having seen so many of my friends with mutts that have happily lived to 15+ and died peacefuly in their sleep. I would never again buy a pedigree dog. I just feel sorry I didnt come work it all out earlier. The woman trying to raise awareness about the calaviers is my hero. What a good person!

  • There all connected and you (if you are a breeder the cares)should pass this video on to as many people as possible as peope still choose kc dogs over say 'sherrlys' or owners that have had the breed passed down threw the family.

You cant win crufts and I be that woman sucked cock to get where she is.This is all wrong and the legit breaders get dragged in to this, thee standards are a joke.

  • Those breeders who breed for show and don't care about the health of the dogs should be breeders at all. All they care about is pristige. I had a cavalier who sirnga mipila (i know my spelling sucks) and we had to put him down last week becuase he was suffering sooo much (rip anubis. I will miss you). I would like to go over to those ignorant heartless breeders and tell them "becuase of your carlesses i lost my dog to a deaise that you would glady pass so you can win a freaking dog show"

  • I'm so sorry for the loss of your dog :-(

It makes me so angry! I am in Australia, not sure where you are, but I don't think things are as bad over here.

I have been wanting to get a Cavalier for so long but I am hesitant now :(

  • @alr82 Thanks alot. I live in the USA. We Sued the breeder but even though we got our money back, we will never get our dog back

  • I agree with many of the comments here...sadly, ignorance is bliss as some say...and obviously those who blatantly ignored the questions asked, blew them off, denied the accusations or stormed off without comment are living in a world that would ALL come crashing down on them if the LAWS changed to regulate them to DO THE RIGHT THING! It's sad how we look at form and function and say "not pretty", but then pick an animal with deformities and a pretty color/coat as an exemplary specimine..sick!

  • Let's make ALL breeders look like cruel

assholes. How many breeders are in that country? Now how many did they interview? Only the ones that made the worse comments. Take any propaganda with a grain of salt.

  • If this was "propaganda" then how come we have this huge increase in K9 disease?

The proof is in the pudding.

Good and honest breeders with the right intentions are by far in the minority.

Otherwise we would have a few sick pups here and there instead of a nation of sick dogs.

The truth is that the very nature of breeding has changed from selecting dogs for function, which produces healthy and functional animals to this sick "beauty" pageant where health and functionality take second place.

  • The propaganda machine is in full effect when we see people deny the health problems created by money hungry breeders and glory hounds.

Denying that we have a huge problem means we are becoming a part of the problem instead of the solution.

It is a lot easier to just sit there and pretend that everything is fine because as soon as we admit that there is a problem we actually have to get off our butts and do something.

I, for one, will do my part to educate people and help man's best friend.

  • I think that this is a tragedy. Those poor animals are in such pain and noone is doing anything to stop it. The breeders and leaders of The Kennel Club obviously care more about the money and attention a "well-bred" dog brings in, than the severe health problems these animals have to suffer. It is pure evil. I didn't ever think that inbreeding was as bad as it comes off in these videos. I am schocked!

  • Excellent work! Those who can not police themselves will find out what happens. Dog showing seems to be very little about the dogs but rather about the ego on the other end of the leash.

  • Well said Sambasue! After watching this I'm almost to embarrassed to call my self a dog lover! I don't have a preference as to mutt or pedigree having had both but now I'm most certainly leaning toward mutt! Poor dogs. Those people (breeders and Kennel Club) disgust me more than words can say.

  • It is disgusting the things we do to animals for "show" and/ or "Sport".
