  • Thats how my toilet looks like after my uncle uses it.

  • hey how do i make the mix to create the blood? that´s all i need to know please, thanks and very good vid!

  • @juanelox1212 it was chocolate syrup, corn syrup, red food dye, corn starch for thickening, and some cottage cheese for "guts". We just played with varying amounts of each ingredient until we got it how we wanted it, so I don't know an exact measure of each.

  • Pretty cool blood spatter. How did you do it?

  • thats fake!! :(

  • paintball?

  • Hey, how did you have you're hand infront of the blood??

  • how did u do that?

  • You should use a tripod

  • wow thats amazing!!!

  • you could do some post-production motion stabilization to this footage as an alternative solution to the lack of tripod.

  • @Valsam75 I did some pretty hardcore post-production stabilization. The problem is, digital stabilizers require a few high contrast, stationary points to lock onto. And there are none in this clip. The blood is high contrast, but since it is dripping down the wall, it is by no means stationary.

  • that's awesome!

  • the jittering is because you film it with a hand not on a statif :P

  • wooow

  • hwat the?! thru ur hand? or am i just retarded.

  • That's a really good blood spatter. Looks like someone pulled off a nice headshot.

  • Thx man *5/5

  • explanation pllllls

  • Test for a gunshot effect used in a film. Made with compressed air and a fake blood mixture. Tests don't have to look great as long as they do exactly what you need them to do. This one did. It proved to us that the fake blood mixture would splatter effectively. My "Gunshot test 2" video is the second test, with the purpose of proving that the blood mixture could also be composited realistically.

  • not bad

  • Hey, could i have the blood splatter clip please? I will need it for a video i'm gonna make. Tell me if i can by pm please, i would be really happy :)

  • I don't think I have the original clip anymore, but this clip is really not good for compositing anyway, since it is so shaky.

  • Don't you have the one from test 2? Well thanks anyways

  • need a tripod then it will look great

  • @StillFramePictures hi! how are u?

  • looks awesome next time make sure all four corners are tight so the spray doesnt move the white

  • The white plastic was very tight. The problem was the shakiness from being handheld. The "stabilize" feature in Motion 3 could not stabilize the footage very well because any high contrast point in the footage was not stationary (i.e.- the blood droplets were dripping down the wall, not stationary). Stabilization requires a couple of fixed points to work, and since there were none, it didn't. Thus, jitters.

  • guys pause at 0:18 u can see white edges

  • its jittering cuz you put the blood splatter originally was on that plastic thing

and when you sprayed the blood on it

    it moved around

    so ya

you put it on the wall

    and it still moves

cuz thats how you recorded it

next time usea green or blue

  • OMG Thats Nasty LOL

  • ok dude u HAVE to tell me how you did the one with the hand

  • It's just simple compositing. He keyed out the white from the blood splatter, and keyed out a scene of someone "shooting" his hand, and put both on top of a picture of a wall.

  • how did he "key" it out?

  • He used an editing program like Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Express, Adobe Premiere, etc.

  • Yep, something like that. It was Motion 3, part of the Final Cut Studio package. Luma key and difference matte. The compositing turned out better in the "Gunshot Test 2" video.

  • awesome

  • wow that was a cool one! like it!!

  • hey ,how did you make the blood and how did you make the blood squirt onto the garbage bag

  • I have a question is the dude with the hole in his hand by anychance Brandon Smirnoff?

  • Um, no. That's my hand...

  • Whawhawhawhawhaaaa?

  • nice :D

  • Nope, about 80% chocolate syrup. Even better! :)

  • is that rasberry jam? yum XD

  • It had a veteran EMT's solid approval in the final short film. That's real enough for me.

  • You need a steady surface and a stabilized cam on a tripod to make it look realistic while alpha keying.

  • Thanks for the comment. Read the "more info" section that was posted a year ago...

  • dood what'd you use for your blood!? it looks AMAZING!

  • I have a 16 Fl. Oz (1 pint) of this stuff, its called Bottle Of Blood™ and it was 4 bucks, its used for special effects, looks and flows like real blood, icredible blood red color, frightfully realistic and on top of all that still manages to be NON-TOXIC. Its made by easter unlimited inc. and it says not to use near eyes or in mouth and children under 10 shouldn't get it.

  • That stuff does look pretty real. And it's a lot easier than making your own like we did. Winds up costing about the same.

  • green screen

  • no... difference matte and luma key

  • Check out my realistic muzzle flash and other videos!

  • 2nd type the hand was photoshop right?

  • I had used a difference matte to key out the hand, instead of chroma keying. Since the skin color is nearly the same as the wall, that is the best key I was going to pull for such a quick test. That's why the crummy cutout look on the hand.

  • nice! yea, how did you splatter it?

  • We attached a piece of tubing to a paintball CO2 tank that had a manual air valve. A quick turn of the valve was all it needed to spray the blood.

  • nice, how'd u splatter it?

  • i really like the way you do this type of effect its very well done and ends up looking very good

  • what did you shoot the blood out with cool splatter effect!

  • what do you use for your blood? is it just corn syrup?

    good colouring.

  • It is corn syrup, chocolate syrup, corn starch, food coloring, and cottage cheese. It actually smelled good on the movie set it was eventually used on.
