Hey guys. I work for a trailer Manufacturing company called Doepker here in Canada. We shipped grain trailers down to Austraila a few years back and I was wondering if anyone down there has ever seen or heard of them?
@BIGblocks4life Hi there up in wonderful Canada : ) to answer ur question while I was over there for a holiday I remember seeing the name alot Im sure your sign was red & black, I havn't seen one over here as I run Perth - Melbourne but I do know there are some up in Queensland, excellent trailers by the way so hope that helps, cheers mate take care :)
Why are some of these trucks showing 'LONG VEHICLE'? They look clearly too long to get away with that...In western Australia anything over 30 meters must display 'ROAD TRAIN', that's why some companies like Boral keep some of their trucks just under 30m , so they can run as a long vehicle and use roads they wouldn't normally be permitted to use.
B-Triple's only say long vechile in S.A. they change over to ROAD TRAIN signs at Border Village WA / SA... im not 100% sure why that is,, im guessing its just law of something like that.
Thanks, but I clearly remember Boral shortening a lime tanker that displayed 'ROAD TRAIN' to under 30m so they could use 'LONG VEHICLE' plates, then they could go through pinjarra town to get to Alcoa in the shortest distance, it weighed 91 ton , 63 ton payload, 12 axels, this was concessional loaded with permits. Was there another reason they shortened it to under 30m??? Please comment and thanks again for replying.
i also live in perth so i know what u mean, but they run pocket trains NOT road-trains to display roadtrain signs LEGALLY your configuration whatever it is has got to be over 36 metres long
Yes I totally agree, Boral do use pocket trains to transport lime from Cockburn cement to Kwinana, pinjarra and wagerup, I remember about 5 years ago I saw one run over the top of a car by kwinana beach, i do remember it being refered to as a 'pocket train'. Thanks for your reply.
darogi transport express lost a road train in the great eastern highway fire, and shouldn't they have long vehicle signs for a b triple because the Direct Freight Express ones don't, they have road train signs, again nice GKR B triples, and a couple of good Jolly trolleys too, except the kenworth needed a wash
B Triples are classed as roadtrains in WA and Long Vehicles in SA so the guys have to change the signs at the border. And the 6 trailer Double B Triples and Triple B Doubles up north are definately roadtrains!
yer, B-Triples must have LONG VECHILE signs in SA, they change over at Border Village WA/SA to ROAD TRAIN signs, the direct freight btriple (argosy) was having a photo shoot done (peter schlenk the photographer) and i was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time, the K104 just had ROAD TRAIN signs on, as that was the 1st and only time ive seen it as that was on the B-triple
hey i live in adelaide and i know peter schlenk does he have youtube user or webshot or flickr user if he i know can you tell thanx by the good work but needs some music
Howdy T904nut, yer ive only ever met Peter once and that was when the Direct Freight B/Triple was parked up, he doesnt have a youtube or webshots or flickr.. he has a album on Hanks Truck Pictures website so google that and have a browse and you will find it.. he hasnt updated it for afew years tho.
What does the Direct Freight Express Argosy cart at 1:34? How come his trailers are bogie and not triple?

I like Aussies better. You all can have 52 footers on yours. That's cool!

We have triples in Oregon. (USA)
The trailers are just like normal trailers but they have couplers that attach to the back of the first 2 trailers.
The drivers that drive them are very well trained & I have never herd of an accident the whole time I've been here. Never.
The postal service uses them here too.
The trailers are around 35' each.(No 52's!)
The people that are scared are fools. Drivers of triples are the best drivers on the road or they get no permit.
