  • This is Tocatta and Fuge in D minor. Learn your music, please!

  • they play this song in fantasia don't they?

  • @dramaticphan yes

  • tocatta and fugue

  • what a very labor intensive intstrument to play~ like driving an organ rather then playing one.. the feet and hands.. watching the music on the page.. wow.. welldone FOCUS lol

  • do you even know the diffrence?

    apparently not. idiot

  • this song only plays by Dracula. the Phantom of the Opera theme song is play by [very obvious] the phantom.

  • Back when my wife and I were getting married we met with the organist he played some songs, but before we left I asked him if he could play this he said yes, (There was 2 or 3 more couples waiting below) looked at me and said OH BOY! I havn't opened up all the pipes in a while. He played it all about 6 minutes it was great. Our Lady Of The Angles is the name of the Church Worcester Mass.

  • my retarded brother Bilo can play better than that

  • This is Dracula.

  • Go to your video and edit the title so that peole will not be confuse with the wrong title. Anyway nice.

  • Thumbs up if ur pissed cuz this guy made you waste 3 minutes that was designated for something else.

  • i didnt hear this being played when i went to see it yesterday in london???

  • whaa?

  • Even though I am a die hard POTO phan, ik that this is the opening piece in Ken hills phantom of the opera, but ALW is sooooooo much better

  • You idiot. This is Toccata and Fugue in D minor. Granted, it's a well-used organ piece, but it's still not POTO.

  • Man! that´s toccata and fugue in d minor by johan sebastian bach

  • what dumbass named the video

  • you are stupid.. sorry your monkey,, kkk this is a toccata and fuggue , isn't phntom of the opera... donkey....

  • *facepalm* Two of my favorite peices, one mistaked for the other and that one is ruined anyhow, tisk tisk.

  • This isn't the Phantom of the Opera, so you shouldn't put 'Phantom of the Opera' it. You should put Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor as the title.

  • retardado.. isso eh toccata and fugue e nao phantom of opera .. ¬¬

  • poor organ =,(

  • um... fail

  • ...... That is SUPPOSED to be Toccata but you fucked it up well and truely. Search up Phantom Of the Opera and then after that Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor and tell me which one of those sounds like what you just played?

  • I love this score, but why do people think this is phantom of the opera? retards...

  • well you stupid people don't appreciate piano players at all... geez stupid people... but he's really good... I've always wanted to learn that song... but I have to get the organ or that type of piano he got... it's really cool to have skills like that... I mean yeah I can play Beethoveen and all... but he's really good O_O;

I shall applaude him for a great preformences <3

  • @EmmaJulieStar That is what is commonly called an organ, not a piano. Quite different skills are required to play either of them well.

  • @frypiano

    yeah, I know... but it looks hard when playing my favorite and he kinda messed a little... but it's a differcult song I know... I've always wannted to learn that song, but my teacher says I couldn't till I get bigger hands cause I have a hand of a child ^^;

But I love this, but he needs a metronome.

  • THIS IS NOT THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. AT. ALL.

  • Definitely terrible - shoot it !

  • This is a terrible interpretation of toccata and fugue

  • Long live Johann Sebastian Bach, I hope his music never die!!!

  • <3====3 << thats a real dick

    not 8=====D

  • Haters. 8===D Eat this. xD

    Nice play.

  • this is taccata and fugue :D but shyeaaahhh :P

  • u kno, this is pretty good.

  • Это не фантом оперы. Это Toccata Бетховена, тупое быдло!

  • @Ruffitsme this is not Beethoven's its Bach's :|

  • @Ruffitsme сам же и обломался. Не Бетховен а Бах.

  • This is not PoTO, you clever guy!

  • please don't post a video while you are still practicing on

  • no es muy bueno

  • @yamel55555 Si. Yo estoy de acuerdo

  • NNOOOOTTTTT PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

  • theme from Gyruss game ;)

yup, its Toccata and Fugue, till the end i was hoping for smooth change to phantom ... ehh

  • This is Bach not Sir Lloyd Webber's music

  • This is Toccata and Fugue in D minor! not phantom of the opera! i know that this was used for the first movie but its not right.

  • You should edit the title to: The Original Phantom of the Opera theme(Toccata and fugue) because many people who are ignorant of the fact that this piece was originally used for the Phantom of the opera are being mislead. They are affected by the current musical.

  • WOOT! 1925 LON CHANEY PHANTOM FTW!!!

    Epicness <3

  • @PhangirlMusician I don't know whether anyone else pointed this out to you, but this is not Lon Chaney. This was composed during the Baroque period by Johann Sebastian Bach. It is Tocatta and Fuge in D Minor. While it was used in the original Phantom movie, it was not composed during modern times. The uploader should have made that clear.

  • @MadameCheesette

I know, I just remembered this song at the intro of a version of the 1925 movie. I'm a big nerd for music and Phantom, so I know about this stuff. But, really... LON CHANEY FTW!

  • Not what I was looking for, but an awesome video nonetheless.

  • Well, if you are going to bit pissy, the composition is a Tocatta and Fugue composed by Johann Sebastian Bach, the master of all composers.

Toccata means "touch piece" and a Fugue is a contrapuntal composition that has many elements in common with a cannon and invention.

The Toccata gets it's name because of the staccato or detached nature of melodic line or "cantus firmus ."

As to the "type" of music...it is a composition for solo organ in the Baroque style and period.

  • Please....this is not Phantom of the Opera "song".

It is not a "song". There are no words. No body is singing. You have to have words and "singing" to be a "song."

Please....this just jerks my chain every time I here a young person say this.

If I were you I would edit the title.

  • @GutpileCharlie Nobody really cares what the difference between a symphony, concerto, fugue, madrigal, etc. is when commenting on a youtube video. Its just easier to type. Stop complaining, not everyone knows or even cares. I notice that you failed to mention what type of music this is exactly.

  • Obviously, nobody realizes that ,before the musical came out, that this was the Phantom of the Opera theme!

  • He did pretty much screwed up the beginning and some path of the song but atleast he didn't screw up the description

  • Not terribly well played!!!!!

  • TOCCATA AND FUGUE IN D MINOR BY JOHANN SEBATIAN BACH HIMSELF!

  • toccata and fugue nice song, but i was especting phatom of the opera

  • What does this has to do with Phantom of the Opera? you idiot

  • @TrapnestShinigami It was the original phantom of the opera theme, BEFORE THE MUSICAL. fail.

  • @LovelyLittleLadyx0

Ah? know who is Johann Sebastian Bach?

  • Comment removed

  • YOU SUCK

  • You people need to get toccata and the phantom theme corrected in your head!

  • Überschrift mal bitte überprüfen es handelt sich bei diesem lied um toscata und fuge ich dennke m und nicht um phantom der oprer

  • i rate DOWN cause TITLE!!!!!!!!..... of course that who plays knew that's not the Phantom of the Opera, he's good......

  • This isn't Phantom you idiot.

  • @Sword1479 He doen't say it is. It's implied, I guess, but this is in fact the original piece of music used in the 1962 film, and has been associated with the phantom of the opera as both a play and a concept (parodies, etc) for longer than flashy west end re-write Lloyd Webber came up with. Learn some history, Webber has barely written anything original.

  • @BlackOut321123 Sorry, I only assumed he was talking about the musical since it was one of the many related videos centered around the musical. Still, he should have clarified.

  • @Sword1479 oh okay i see. what is it though ?

  • @alboholic2 A part of "Bach's" Toccata and Fugue in D minor

  • @Sword1479 this is the intro to toccata in d minor not fugue

  • Just be nice dont be rude people..at least he can play it..LoL

  • @ismalinee the best comment i've seen here!! =D at least he does something most of us can't! wrong name...good performance!.lol

  • It is Bach, but the Phantom is often associated with this tune for obvious reasons. And because he played the tune in the 1962 movie.

  • I repeat what others have said ... this is not the phantom but Toccata and Fugue

  • BACH

  • you silly, this tocata y fuga by js bach

  • NIce ;D

    Sounds very good!

  • u didnt really get the main tune in but the wwhole thing was great i can do the opening bit

  • Who is Bach? This is not bach. This is for sure phantom of the opera. It was composed by Johanne Sebastian Webber.

  • @sg1741 Toccata and Fugue in D Minor > Johan Sebastian Bach

Phantom of the Opera > Andrew Lloyd Weber

  • @sg1741 this is tocatta and fugue in D minor by JS Bach the phantom of the opera is by andrew lloyd webber but if you were making a joke it was good

  • @sg1741 No, this is Bach

  • very scooby doo esk I love it !!!

  • This is tocatta and fugue in d minor.

  • Yes, it's BWV 545, but it's theme of 1962's POTO.

  • on the info there is toccata and fugue in d minor, and for losers, toccata in d minor is by sergei prokofiev

  • This is toccata and fugue, not phantom of the opera X(

  • what is this. hes got the rhythm all wrong

  • this song was in the 1962 phantom of the opera for you laaameos who don't know that!

but it is Toccata and Fugue in D minor by Bach.

    hahaha.

  • you need practice

  • @mukunku1 ok you post a video do better than him if not quit running your mouth I dont see you on here with 20 something thousand less than 100,000 so when you are that good then you should talk

  • hatfield? as in..hatfield pennsylvania?

  • freakin awsome

  • *pukes all over the organist*

  • absolutely awful, an organist who doesnt even know what hes playing, its the toccata in d minor not the phantom of the opera

  • stop butchering it

  • even though its not phantom of the opera its pretty good!

  • @alalalaalalala11

in the book/movie/music when he's on the organ when christine wakes up (after music of the night) this is what he's supposed 2 b playing

  • @iheartpuppy yeah, i figured it out afterwards, thanks

  • it is phantom of the opera...

  • your awsome but thats from dracula not the phantom of the opera not that thats a bad thing you keep on jammn` lol love your playing bud wish i had your kind of talent

  • I suggest you add a little more pedals. the bass is a good part and at some parts you could use more, especially when you play full organ

  • Bach's Toccata in D minor played a little different. Not what people today think of as "phantom of the opera", but still cool, and it was used in an older version.

  • WTF?!

  • thats not the song :L thats just random tunes..

  • great stuff, man, fuck off with these bastards who just remember the fucking names, and forget the music and it's meaning told us by the great genious of our master bach

  • Ragged.

  • Wooooooooooh al principio parece que flaquea, pero dsp le pone emocion con los graves y esas notas que creo que son pedales o nose.. eeeeeeeeeen fin... muy bueno jajaj

  • 5 stars!!!

  • this is toccata and fugue asshole!

  • there is no need to say bad words.

  • shhh!

  • @whitepointt The toccata and Fugue by Bach was used in the Origional Phantom of the Opera film, its something like a 20's Film.

  • :o!

  • @whitepointt It was used as the Theme of The original Phantom of the Opera movie Asshole!

  • @Joemylad but that's not the song's name ;)

  • @whitepointt technically, it's just the toccata. :P

  • @superoctave yeah, whatever lol

  • @whitepointt Not played very well!!!

  • @whitepointt toccata and fugue is generally associated with the phantom of the opera. I don't know why, since the original phantom of the opera film with Lon Cheney did not feature the toccata and fugue. I could be wrong though, I just don't remember.

  • Comment removed

  • @LovelyLittleLadyx0 ya it was used for the original phantom of the opera :P

  • i wish it had fugue. but thats hella badass

  • Tocatta & Fugue, not phantom of the opera.

  • that's not ze phantomz.

  • That is not Phantom of the Opera. Rather, it is Bach's Tocata and Fugue.

  • thats not phantom but very well played!! =)

  • that's no the Phantom of the Opera song that's toccata dude!

  • How did this get 70,000 views? seriously?

  • Because Iron Maiden have a song called Phantom of the opera, I think.

  • I don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but did you know that this is Toccata and Fugue in D Minor? No one else probably noticed.

  • Hmmm, just the tocatta part, no fugue. But well played.

  • lol this isnt phantom of the opera this is toccata and fugue in D minor but still well played

  • I always called it "The creepy haunted house music"

  • if you listen the phantom DOES play this song in the most recent movie, just a snippet of it but still

  • sounding a bit repetitive here, but once again this is toccata and fugue. on a lighter note it sounded good though

  • Once again, Toccata and Fugue in D minor

  • Jeez, That's Toccata And Fuge, Not Phantom Of The Opera! My gosh. How misleading.

  • Organists are amazing

  • amazing? you have no idea what you just said.

    LOL

  • this is ticata and fudge -.-

  • the version of "The Phantom of the Opera" that Retardedmelon007 is reffering to is the 1925 silent film which featured Lon Chaney and Mary Philbin

  • Why title is "Phantom Of The Opera" ?

Toccata and Fugue in D minor

  • It its titled that way because it was featured in one of the Phantom of the Opera movies. Not the musicals, but one of the movie. I believe it was one that came out around the 60's? Not sure of the exact date, but the point is there are several versions and variations of the story as just plain old movies. n___n

You should try watching some. They are all wonderful!

Although I do agree with you in the fact that this title is rather misleading. :3

  • I'd love to be able to play like him :D

  • Hey :)

Thank you for this video...I'm also playing the organ and i love the phantom of the opera...at the moment i'm trying to search the notes, but can't find them anywhere.

Maybe you can send me the nots on my e-mail account? That would be so kind! :)

    Greetings

    Lena

  • At first I thought you were playing Sweeny Todd But this is so Amazing!

  • great job man

    i give it a 5

dont listen to this stupid people who talk shit because there jeleousy <--- not sure if that how u spell it

  • you play like shit stupido

  • that was amazing

    despite what everyone else says

that must of taken ages to learn and I can only dream of playing anything that good on a piano or organ

  • If Bach weren't already decomposed, he'd roll over in his grave having been witness to this. This is THE worst interpretation of this piece I've ever heard.

  • There are so many good (and professional ) interpretations of this piece that it's difficult to accept any other. But I think "reverb" could be turned on.

  • Agree. Why do people insist on ruining it with their embellishments? It wouldn't be so bad if they made sense to the piece. His do not.

  • o.O

  • lol

  • this isn't phantom of the opera!!! its just some dude messing around on an organ!!! =[

  • this is the phantom of the opera. it's the original one, by JS Bach

  • It´s not the phantom of the opera. This is Toccata and fuge in d minor. It was only used in a erlier movie. But this has nothing to do with the opera. It´s much more older than the Phantom...

  • toccata is written in 1703 and 1704...

  • Please try to play it like Bach wrote down, not like you want. It would be more beautiful. Don't be fast and this is only toccata, not fugue

  • Comment removed

  • While the name of the song may not be Phantom of the Opera, the Phantom does play this song (Toccata and Fugue in D minor) on the Organ in various renditions of film and theater performances.

  • shit

  • wow even though this is not the phantom of the opera -.- lol

yer still AMAZING! KEEP IT UP! GOOD JOB LOL!!

AND NICE FLIP ON 1:47 LMAOO
