While I have the utmost respect for CP as a trainer, as a Pain Management Therapist of over 14 yrs, all I can say is that his body mechanics during treatment are not to be replicated and would spell PAIN for most trying to do what he's doing the way he's doing it...
why poliquin use so much machines in his training program..he is strenght trainer and use workauts such lateral raises , behinde the neck press..smell to me like huckster
@madman4654 I know a bodybuilder who uses the behind the neck press, lateral raises, and another who uses machines. Not everyone needs to train for strength (although for example, I prefer to), and CP will train any elite of any sport, period.
@BadWithNames123 Maybe there is someone here in Germany ;-) Try to find Daniel Knebel at Facebook or simple google him!. He is PICP Level 5 International Master Coach (learned directly from C. Poliquin).
@jdcc33 Then the problem isn't A.R.T. it is your practitioner. Either s/he is using poor technique or is treating the wrong area or you are not doing the proper training to rehabilitate.
@heyvangy Maybe but have had 3 or different ART Therapists One is an Instructor and Doc for the Anaheim Ducks! :) So I have also worked on Many Clients after A.R.T. Didnt work for them either.
@heyvangy Either that or the problem is BEYOND A.R.T. Not all problems can be solved by that. I was guilty of thinking this when I first started using it.
hah.. who said medical science works all the time? hows cures for cancer goin for ya? ... nice one.. Poliquin has proven results with various athletes, mentzer was a great bodybuilder, but was limited in vision and one minded.
This looks like the healing hands thing. Just all fancy movements to make it look like its doing something or that something is going on, when its not really. I would like see some scientific evidence on this like Dawkins would. I first heard of Charles when Mike Mentzer was slagging him off.
Mentzer was a drug enhanced "bodybuilder" that got results on HIGH intensity/LOW volume training and advocates it to everyone, ecto, endo, meso, young, old, male and female which is fundamentally flawed! Poliquin administers tons of protocols and works with world class athletes from a multitude of sports...and gets results. No secret Poliquin thinks Mentzers "1 set to failure" stinks, no brainer that Mentzer then will slag Poliquin off! Charles will NOT give a shit!
Advocates it to everyone. Yes just like the doctor would advocate giving both you and me the same medicine if we had the same illness, because we are basically the same. If we weren't, then medical science would not work. HIT gets results for both steroid and non-steroid trainers but only volume trainers using steriod get results, cos they are used to counter-act all the over-training. As for getting results with wc athletes maybe if they are wc then even i could train them and get results.
Maentzer was known in the iron game as "Mr Heavy Duty", that's ALL he advocates if you know his writings! I have his book, he states throughgout that anything above TWO max sets would be overtraining! Everyone knows about high and low volumes in the most basic and flexible periodisation models, but ALL the time????. And if YOU could train a wc athlete to get results why aren't you? Poliquin's results in CONDITIONING (he's not a sport/athletic coach) speak volumes, not just at elite level either.
For starters, ART was not developed by charles, but is known world wide as an accepted and scientifically proven massage therapy technique used for increasing ROM especially in rehabilitation. Saying ART does nothing is just close-minded and kinda dumb. Also about mentzer, his training gets results for about 2-3 weeks because most bodybuilders are overtrained, the low work rate gives them adequate rest and their muscles a chance to grow... But then you plateau. unless ur genetically suited to it
@pct437 Diseases all have the exact same biology which means they can all be treated with the exact same cures. Human bodies can be mesomorphic, ectomorphic, endomorphic, be primarily fast twitch or primarily slow twitch, have certain nutritional deficiences, have unseen weaknesses in certain areas... ALL of which affect how a client will respond to different training styles. The thing that makes charles one of the best is that he tests these things and bases the training on the clients needs
@hendrixian1 i've never even heard of pct and had to go look it up. the pc is my initials and the t437 is what homer simpson order for the nuclear power plant.
oops i didnt mean to say "healing hands" i meant to say the "laying on of hands" but respect to the author for not removing the comment. I'm sure it doesn't matter what i say though because people have faith and will believe whatever they want.
I had several ART sessions done to my quads and IT band. I felt like a million bucks afterwards. The workouts and pumps were better and noticed strength gains and less knee pain.
zk8620-If you knew his training principles, you would recognise that there is not always a need for excessive hypertrophy. Oh and "small arse pussies" has no bearing on strength levels..thinks are not always what they seem. Relative strength is often called for in some sports e.g gymnastics.
In essence, it's the difference between active and passive manipulation. Here, A.R.T., Is being administered by pinning the tendon/muscle (at the site) and moving the extremities. P&S, is VERY similar and depending on the practitioner-will vary in results. A.R.T., from Poliquin is probably a LOT of money and (NO DISRESPECT INTENDED) - not a lot different from a master practitioner of P&S.
I click the thumbs up for the top comment because someone else did...

So how does ART work for weight lifting shoulder injuries?
I have a chronic issue from lifting. Does ART actually break up scarring or just loosen the soft tissues up?
How many visits does it normally take?
Would anyone have any idea about how much it costs?
