I loved Dracula and Interview With a Vampire but when I saw this film I was sorely disappointed. :( I don't think any of the characters looked the same and the film gave off more of The Crow or Criss Angel look than what I had imagined from the books. Still, they kept vampires looking dark and sinister and that I can appreciate.

But they were also taking things from The Vampire Lestat book as well, so, again, time probably just didn't allow it.
@Demonaluv Again, time wasn't the issue. It was how they used it. They had half of the movie focusing on Lestat & Jesse crap that wasn't in the books and didn't even work realistically for the film, when they could've not done so and saved time for something like the concert scene.
PS. They did not use material from The Vampire Lestat book as well, they focused on it. If you take a look at this film & the books, you'll notice that 95% of this movie's scenes base on the TVL book alone.

I'm sorry! But I am a firm lover of the Vampire Chronicles, Interview with the Vampire and The Queen of the Damned were my favorite novels in the series--But wtf?! They fucked up Anne Rice' work completely! This film in no way is related to the original material in the book, no wonder it was a critical failure and ruined any possible continuation of film adaptations for the series.

@Pyrox1 yep inded, however, a cameo on a movie is completely different thing (image) than music rights and contracts,,, and the worst thing how this music contracts are written and signed, :( I'm really sorry that Davis himself was not able to record the songs with his own voices, but had to use a lot of other singers from other groups (Disturbed, Linkin Park... others) to be able to see his songs on the official soundtrak of the movie ... anyhow, that movie sound trak ROCKS!!

@VampireOutlaw I suppose I can see where you're coming from. I mean, the movie (in comparison to the book) was quite disappointing (though, I still liked it) and one full song might've been pleasant. But they were also taking things from The Vampire Lestat book as well, so, again, time probably just didn't allow it.

@Demonaluv Again, time wasn't the issue. It was how they used it. They had half of the movie focusing on Lestat & Jesse crap that wasn't in the books and didn't even work realistically for the film, when they could've not done so and saved time for something like the concert scene.
PS. They did not use material from The Vampire Lestat book as well, they focused on it. If you take a look at this film & the books, you'll notice that 95% of this movie's scenes base on the TVL book alone.

I'm sorry! But I am a firm lover of the Vampire Chronicles, Interview with the Vampire and The Queen of the Damned were my favorite novels in the series--But wtf?! They fucked up Anne Rice' work completely! This film in no way is related to the original material in the book, no wonder it was a critical failure and ruined any possible continuation of film adaptations for the series.

@Pyrox1 yep inded, however, a cameo on a movie is completely different thing (image) than music rights and contracts,,, and the worst thing how this music contracts are written and signed, :( I'm really sorry that Davis himself was not able to record the songs with his own voices, but had to use a lot of other singers from other groups (Disturbed, Linkin Park... others) to be able to see his songs on the official soundtrak of the movie ... anyhow, that movie sound trak ROCKS!!

This movie was complete shit! How can you guys watch this stupid pathetic fucked up cheap studio edited film? The actors and actresses were RETARDED COMPLETELY! Tom Cruise was way better as Lestat than this Stuart guy! This movie was awful, the effects looked like they cost two bucks, the script degraded Anne Rice's Novel "Queen of the Damned"...Bottom line if you think that this is the best vampire movie ever, go jump off a clif!
