  • Brilliant song, all the fuckin best

  • great song!!

  • this song is so honest, it makes me cry because he's stating the frustrating facts of the lives we all live

  • amazing :D anyone know what chords hes playing ?

  • @BrocoliBeatsTurtle major and minor chords.

  • So perfect for the film. thanks Kevin

  • Hi Kevin, Congratulations from one of the Barry Court gang! I am so very happy for you. You deserve it, my old friend. Rick Haegg

  • @Sixstringmt Hi Rick, this is Kim Sanders - our old buddy Kevin did good, didn't he! Long way from Barry Court and kickball games, playing Army, going to Ruby's and Keiser elementary.

  • a beautiful song for a beautiful movie! thumbs up in the air :)

  • It's impressive everytime again how people seem to have te urge to express that they have absolutely no idea of music by stating borned nonsense about the guy can't play guitar or can not sing - actually you people arent even capable of proper criticism - showstopping performance, really

  • Holy shit this guy can't sing

  • @IntermissionForBunny Yes he can. Beautiful song!

  • @IntermissionForBunny firstly shit can't be holy n secondly if u say this guy can't sing then i'll say saina nehwal cant't play badminton !!! he can sing really good n it's a heart touching song

  • heard this song inspired the movie. And i have yet to see it..... gahhh!

    What a beautiful song :)

  • Really awesome lyrics which makes this a great song! I can relate to so many things in real life!

  • 'm up in the air,

    Choices drifting by me everywhere

And I can't find the one

That would help me do the work I've left undone,

'Cause I'm up in the air.

    I'm making some plans,

Finding out there's always new demands.

    And I can't be precise

When people ask me what I'm doing with my life.

I say, "It's up in the air."

  • @Jayraj1968 Hey,sorry to bother you but can you please write for me the entire liryc?Cuz i cant get all the words..Thank you!!kisses from italy

  • this song is great and really characterizes the movie

  • OMG smoke a joint and listen to this song..!!! best shit EVER!!!

  • AHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • i absolutely love this song, and the film.

does anyone know the chords? if you do please message me :)

i don't have words to describe this song...

  • I believe these are the chords: C, G (which he chords a bit oddly), Am, Dm, and Em. You can play along with the video to get the order. Hope that helps.

  • Someone jumped in my mind and stole my toughts and out came this beautiful song.

some here talk about lack of technical skills, classic words from men/women without heart.

Trueness don`t need to show off.

    love it

  • Cool song!!!!

  • So great.

  • I absolutely adore this song.

  • can anyone see what chords he's using? if you can message me, it looks like a c chord and a D somewhere, .:p hahah

  • the movie will touch those whose life is more like ryan..it touched me.....music is so right...i'm still very single...

  • @zackyko I've always been single and I'm 41. I can live with that. Can't wait to see Up in the Air. Can't wait to get the soundtrack.

  • i think it reminds me of simon and garfunkel

  • maybe i should should start going to premieres and give people my shitty songs

  • If you close your eyes, he does sound alot like Neil Young. It's a heartfelt piece of music art. So he's not the best guitar player. He's a really good writer with a pure, sweet voice (for a guy) and he has a gift. Congratulations for his courage in insisting on giving the tape to someone to consider! Now everyone gets to listen!

  • just saw kevin's story and how this song came to be.... Well Done Kevin.. way to persevere ...reminds me of neil young... merry xmas

  • His guitar playing leaves a lot to be desired......but his voice has a kind of purity about it.

  • thats rubbish

  • really not too impressive

he plays the same 2 or 3 chords over and over again

  • some great music in this film

starting with sharon jones and the dap kings

    doing the funkiest version of

    "this land is my land"

our theater had a good crowd that promptly left during the credits. we never do and we wait till the very end.

this song was a tag at the end of the credits.

only six people heard it. too bad.

simple music is always refreshing to the ears.

  • What a great song. Thanks for posting! I went through a layoff a year ago tomorrow, and I can relate to the song. Other friends and family are still losing jobs. The past year has been a time for me to get to know myself better, that's for sure. Started my own business, so far so good. Can't wait to see the film.

  • I got to see the film with Jason Reitman at the American Film Institute, and this song was the most amazing punctuation to such a great film. The song really leaves the audience with a poignancy that wouldn't have been as strong without it. Great job, Kevin!

  • I first heard the song in a Reitman interview on American Airlines. I was half asleep, terrified of flying and scrolling through the plane's radio stations. There was a personal magnificence to it.

  • Thanks for posting this, I had just heard about the song on NPR in an interview with Reitman and had to hear the song.

It's really a nice song that anyone who's been laid off can relate too.

    Kudos again!
