tut tut tut. what a way to load it. poor trailer. reflects inexperience, afraid of his shite and panic stations at the vital tip forward moment, and for the person who said hammer down once you hit the ramps, anyone who loads any piece of machinery throttle wide open shouldn't be loading equipment, full stop. also like to point out its far easier load it backwards, and safer for hauling, anything hits the blade when loaded blade first=big mess, the other way round it would deflect off drift arms
Here is an idea... How about lowering the ripper which would put the nose down a little easier. But hey, the mechanic must need some work and replacing trailor axles is pretty easy isn't it. He is lucky that 9 didn't slide off the ramp. Those tracks sometimes don't pull at the same speed at low rpms. I one time saw a stunt like and it ended up with blowing out a couple of trailor tires. But what do they care. They probably don't own the 9 or the LowBoy... Gone are the tradesmen that care.
what is it with these guys stoping while loading and unloading dozers??? it seams like every dozer iv stoped while loading or unloading ends up, slid off the ramps or on its side. i was tought once that tracks touches that trailer hammer down and dont stop untill you where you need to be on the trailer.
@Draglineoperator Haha and someone lets you operate their dozer? Either something is wrong with machines you have been operating or something is wrong with you. I have yet to let anything slide off and I really take my time. Looks like the guy in this vid got it done too, albeit too rough.
Why don't use the ripper to balance the fall? Fuck the damn road! It's a miracle that the weels aren't exploded... The weels are maybe full? That D9G is around 50 tons...
Problem is D-9G was Torque Converter drive. Precision driving requiring power is difficult because you have to increase the revs to get the thing to move under load. Once you do that, it is difficult to control. Loading ramp configuration was the problem.
Takes an experienced operator to control the machine under those conditions. Spent most of my time on a D8K which is a similar unit. About the same power, but not as much weight.
You will note that I said about the same power. My experience with Powershift 9s is that you might not be able to find that extra 85 horsepower so easy, but I'll take your word for it.
on his way up he should have got just over half way and slammed on the brakes. it would have come over a little easier and wouldn't have beat up the trailer so much

How about backing it up on the trailer so the weight of the ripper rocks it over much sooner.

Can someone please explain how this whole scenerio came about ?
I am lost. Why do you drop a dozer like that on a low loader trailer ? Seems like idiots. I could be wrong.
