@slmUSA I've always been confused at the pronounciation too, But I figured that the 'y' would be pronounced like the y in 'il y a' (so an english eeeee), and that it would most likely be linked in, like without the apostophe
@AngelBiLove - we were taught in class it can be a greeting as well as a 'good bye', I never had any problem with it in Nouméa. But I will use bonjour from now on, thanks :)
@KanonXD - when I did this I made sure it was synched - sometimes i think it takes a while for youtube to process the data? Regardless i'll check it out tonight and see if it was just my editing. Thanks!
Tarnoc salut is the informal French word for hi but the formal is of course bonjour

@slmUSA I have just checked the IPA given on the wiki page, there is an open vowel in there (so in my dialect its said like "shame")
