Nice example of the function assigned to shills like santorum and rommney: Just talk endlessly about healthcare and some minute detail of it. Bore and confuse listeners until they give up and say: Its such a difficult and complex issue we better let you decide whats best for us and please leave us alone with politics. How lucky we are we have slimebag rick to throw at the problem. Puhh...If I think that santorum is already deciding of how I have to live life makes me wanna slap the fucker.
As long as people get their health insurance through their employer, nothing will change. Every individual should choose their ins plan in the same way they buy any other insurance. Until that happens, corporate interests will have 100% say about how ins is delivered.
There's something to be said for the fact that the most liberal Republican in the field is smacking down all his more conservative opponents. Let's keep pushing the GOP to the left.
Slick as a teflon anus. See how he flipped it on him? States Rights, BAM. Who knew that the issue entwined with the Civil War and Slavery would come back to judge health insurance prices and options? All Nonsense. It comes down to Weak-ass President or Weaker Lunatic.
This is how Republicans get votes. They repeat these hot button words that spark fear in people, even though they actually have no idea what they mean.
It's just comical and infuriating how they'll bitch about all these financially miniscule programs, then turn around and talk about staying in Iraq and Afghanistan for 100 years, and starting an additional war with Iran. I don't necessarily agree with Ron Paul on everything, but atleast he's consistent about being a deficit-hawk.
@Try2MakeSenseOrSTFU When they say Ron Paul is "unelectable" what they mean is that America votes for image and emotion; not reason. People these days back a president like they are picking a friend. This is the wrong approach. Ron Paul is anti-War, pro-liberty, and his ideas are echoed in great thinkers including Thoreau, Emerson, Paine, Jefferson, Spencer, etc--I'm not quoting someone here, I've read dozen of books to understand my generation. We're going into a dark age, dominated by image.
@mrgerbeck Well, what I mean by "unelectable" and what they mean by it are 2 totally different things. I believe Ron Paul has good intentions, but unfortunately there's nothing about what he says that shows me that he's willing to fix what I believe to be the primary problem with this country. Yes he wants to end all wars, but what's his plan for the hundreds of thousands of discharged troops? What's he plan to do about WallStreet? Lobbying firms actively recruiting congress members?
@Try2MakeSenseOrSTFU I like your questions--big "Wall Street" bankers would have destroyed itself without the help of government. "Wall Street" itself means nothing of course, we need people investing in our country. What has Obama done to stop lobbying? He made promises he could not keep--because it is the people who have to check their government, as Thomas Paine said (see next comment)
"Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher." - Paine
It goes both ways, that is, since government is there to check the vice of men; bigger government means we assume the corruption of our neighbor.
@Try2MakeSenseOrSTFU We are supposed to be the creating ones, no government. What will the troops do when they get back? What will people do when they stop escaping life via television, sport trivia, meme'ing bullshit on Facebook, etc? There is a mass of idle minds out there--we have to believe in each other, protect each other, yet we don't: I pay my ridiculous taxes and figure it will help the poor, so does everyone; therefore, they neglect them. Yet if we had less government we'd know to help
@Try2MakeSenseOrSTFU "It is not a man's duty, as a matter of course, to devote himself to the eradication of any, even the most enormous wrong; he may still properly have other concerns to engage him; but it is his duty, at least, to wash his hands of it, and, if he gives it no thought longer, not to give it practically his support."
@Try2MakeSenseOrSTFU "If I devote myself to other pursuits and contemplations, I must first see, at least, that I do not pursue them sitting upon another man's shoulders. I must get off him first, that he may pursue his contemplations too." - Henry D. Thoreau
@mrgerbeck What's his plan for American manufacturing? A fair trade agreement with China? The wealthy and super wealthy draining money out of the economy by funneling money to offshore accounts? Unfair tax loopholes? Healthcare? Education? And worst of all - the lobbying system that everyone knows is controlling a big chuck of our legislation by gaming the system with corporate money? These are the things I care about and Ron Paul hasn't said anything to address them.
@Try2MakeSenseOrSTFU The problem with China is that they are debasing their currency below its true value. This in economics creates arbitrage, because they are giving away something for nothing. Read the recent article in the New York Times about Apple and China. I agree with you; and to take it further, it is an act of economic war, and we are too busy waisting resources protecting special interest overseas than correcting this real threat.
@Try2MakeSenseOrSTFU He has detailed views on healthcare and education and as evident from the past until today, it's a downward slope, we are on the wrong course. Government, which assumes our vice, is not who we want setting agenda for thought. I dated a teacher for a few years and she HAD to teach things she knew were lies and useless because of Federal policies. Ron Paul is right on this. Health care is more complex but government involvement = $50,000/night BASE bill from a hospital.
@Try2MakeSenseOrSTFU Anyway, this could go on, but I can tell you this--Obama signed NDAA into law and extended the Patriot Act. See this

Bring the troops home, don't bail out Wall Street, let teachers teach, keep money in the states instead of overseas, let states have more power, what is wrong with this?
@Try2MakeSenseOrSTFU If anything taxes should be inverted, heavier on the local level where it goes to your streets, school, firemen, etc; and least at the federal level. This is the original idea, not a new idea. Today we have an inverted system than can be corrupted, but if money stays local its impossible for Monsanto to lobby every little village in city across the nation. Think about that. Ron paul is an anti-federalist, that means more power to the people, from towns and villages up.
And what's with this weird-ass criticism about the individual mandate and "higher premiums"?? How in the FUCK would that work? Requiring more people to be insured would somehow RAISE premiums, even though a lot of those new people would be healthier and use LESS insurance, thus allowing (theoretically, at least) the companies to lower the prices somewhat?
@yes4me You're talking about Emperor Flip Flip, the Czar of Sycophants, Mr. Maybe having more guts than Obama? With all the shit he's had to put up with and continues to put up with? btw, in case you haven't noticed, everyone on that stage is more corrupt than Obama except Ron the cult leader Paul, but even he isn't going to do a damn thing about corporate money controlling what does or doesn't get legislated. Why? Because he thinks money equals speech. Constitutionalist my ass!
@LouieDaProtectionist Better yet don't provide them with the blasphemous scientific medical care. They can just pray their sickness away, I bet Jesus can cure heart disease and rotten teeth.
