@drewdog1120 vtec "cracking" isnt actually a good thing. it can sound cool, but it performs better when its smoothened out and you barely hear it. its also safer for the motor smoothened out

I guess Honda don't make cars with torque because they are economy cars. Cars with more torque sucks up more gas. If Hondas had 200 plus torque they won't give you 30mpg anymore
The only h22 that can actually do something is one stroked to 2.3L. H22's are too heavy and they weigh down civics and they need extra torque to get them really going. So a 2.3L or 2.4L stroked H22 is the way to go.

depends on the setup, if it's an SIR (b16 dohc vtec) it does low 14s, if it's the shitty EX/DX/base model with the weak single cam it'll do 16s... my buddy has the same gen civic with a b20 non-vtec and runs mid 14s, since this has a b20/vtec setup it probably breaks 13s no problem
b16 stock in that car wont run 14's... and id love to see vids of that b20 non vtec his mid 14's...and also that b20 vtec... unless you have something big done to it than it will never get those times...

the tq is based off of volume of the motor ( mostly), the bigger the motor, the more tq. but you are right. say @ 6,000rpm's, a b20 without vtec gets 155lbs of tq. It would be a lot better to make 155lbs of tq@8,000 like you could with a tuned b20 vtec. there is no point to a honda motor without it..they are small, and rev. so get the air to flow up high is the only thing to get power out of those little bastards

It's not because your trans, it's because Honda tends to lack on the torque. Rolling start N/A is kinda bad. From the dig, Honda's shine. They have close geared trans with light weight chassis. LS trans compared to other makes of cars is still very close geared, but yeah. It's because Honda engines have no torque.

b20's n b18's are torquey motors but what makes them have the pontential speed its when they change the motor head, you could eaither go with a gsr head or b16 head

the tq is based off of volume of the motor ( mostly), the bigger the motor, the more tq. but you are right. say @ 6,000rpm's, a b20 without vtec gets 155lbs of tq. It would be a lot better to make 155lbs of tq@8,000 like you could with a tuned b20 vtec. there is no point to a honda motor without it..they are small, and rev. so get the air to flow up high is the only thing to get power out of those little bastards

That is exactly what I was trying to tell this guy. You keep the gas pedal down while you shift. Thats the only difference. Thats why the tires spin from gear to gear.

i did that to a 00' 325i in my b16 integra. i have stage 1 act, skunk2 intake manny, and greddy sp exhaust. but we went from a stop light and i pulled him by like 2-3 cars :). but he put me in the dust from a roll because of my LS tranny :(

It's not because your trans, it's because Honda tends to lack on the torque. Rolling start N/A is kinda bad. From the dig, Honda's shine. They have close geared trans with light weight chassis. LS trans compared to other makes of cars is still very close geared, but yeah. It's because Honda engines have no torque.

a stock si civic isn´t far off pace with a manual 325is. and a b20 vtec hatch will tear it a big new one.
and I know the bmw has better weight distribution beeing that it´s fr. but that does not mean that it inherently has better handling. there is no = between rwd and handling.

Edit* wikipedia is not a reliable source, ur not even alowed to use it as a source in every school i know. from what ive learned from talking to ppl who race. powershifting is when u just force the gear. yes there are racing trannys that make it easier to do this becuase they have strait slit gears. what ur talking about is just a quick shift.

i say he starts off in second because u only see him shift once while the civic is already almost top 3rd.this is not a race, i can put a 4.6 ratio dif in my e30 instead of my 3.7 and kick the fuck out of most cars isee, just that my tires would be spinning constanly and i would have to shift more often.acceleration would increase but top speed would decreas. take them to a track to see a race, with bmw's well know handling and weight distribution this civic would look like an idiot.
