What is with John's guitar tone at the Grammy's? It's fine for the average Joe, but it isn't anything like the signature "Mayer Tone". This and the 2007 performance have a pretty poor tone considering all of the equipment at his disposal and caliber of ear which he employs.

Pino is a master at supporting a singer with tone like butter. A Fender P strung up with flats is truly the way to go in this setting.
