  • Thank you for this series. I thought I was the only person who watched it as no-one I've asked had ever heard of it. I remembered the tune from the muic box exactly. What a trip down memory lane (I was 8) :) X

  • Thanks for posting this. I can remember this from 32 years ago when it was first aired. I was only 4 years old then but I can still remember bits & pieces. It's good to see again.

  • I own this on video, Guild home video release in the 80,s, it has all the individual episodes.

    great memories

  • Thanks for posting. I remember this quite well.

Living in the HTV area at the time it was very local for me.

Richard Wyatt was the local hard man on HTV News.

  • Thanks for posting this - I remember it vividly from 30 years ago; especially Peter Sallis as a ghost-hunter. Interestingly, the story about the soldier is actually true - the Officer in charge of suppressing the Bristol riots in 831 was called Thomas Brereton, and he was court-martialled for leniency after refusing to fire on the crowds. He committed suicide during the trial; and I believe he is buried in London.

  • Great fun & memories bought back by this - thanks for posting. (Note though that despite nearly every internet synopsis saying a 17th century soldier he was actually a 19th century soldier!)

  • Thank you for uploading this series. Despite only being 4 when it aired I have a strng recollection of the soldier in the bed, the ghost of the old lady and the dark room behind the wall! Great to see it all again after 30 years!

  • The father is a pompous fool!
