what a beautifully filmed video that is both educational and informative. you have certainly awakened my wanderlust for exploring the banks of this delightful little stream.
Folks, it happened that I live in a refurbished mill formerly owned by the Kenco Coffee Company which was built across the banks of this little river. So, why not take a look of my "Wandle Air", "My mill" and "Snow Concerto" too to see more of it.
The river starts in the Carshalton / Waddon area and while it looks pretty rural it is even at the start of its journey is through a very heavily populated part of south London. In fact the rivers originates almost a stones throw (albeit a big one) away from the IKEA towers which you may be familiar with. You can now cycle almost the entire route (along the Wandle trail) it is well worth a day out.
It starts off underground but surfaces in waddon at or around waddon ponds. there's an alley called bridle path that runs parallell to croydon road that runs alongside the first stretch of the river before it cuts into beddington park.
I live on the wandle too, it flows about 2 feet from my house. I live just acroos from the watermeads, in a cottage :)
