Ok, what people are not understanding -- and I assume this on account that they have not yet seen the film -- is that the director obviously decided to push the symbolism and beauty of their relationship then is probably farther than most audiences are comfortable. The important part to realize though is that: they are NOT IN A SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP. This is clear in the film, which draws from deeply spiritual imagery in order to discuss their interdependence as people who are bound in love.

This is one of the most beautiful films ever ! It takes all the Freudian and collective unconcious ideas about Fathers and sons and turns them into a poetic, dream-like vision. Everything glows in this film.

such a good movie. is it just me or for anyone that has seen this movie there seemed to be something more to the father and son relationship. either that or I missed something. someone help me out with exactly what this movie is about.
