Quran is really contradicted. You have to use the rule of abrogation (nasikh) to deal with that (Q2.106).

Here is the funny thing, these channels mostly belong to Saudi investors (princes and sheiks) that dont give a flying f*** about what clerics say... And of course what happened next is that this cleric was fired and he came out on TV saying his fatwa was misinterpreted (as usual).. Islam is just fastest multiplying religion, not growing. In 2001 sheykh al-Qataani claimed that eg.: current apostasy in Africa is so fast that for 50 years may be not even one active mosque.
Besides, example: Afghanistan has ca. 30mln citizens but about 44% are children in age 0-14!!! The children are counted as Muslims, but do they have anything to say? :-))) .

4. Gospel doesn't indicate any prophet after Jesus. Jesus even claims that after him will be false prophets.
Gospel account tells that after Jesus Parakletos will come, whom is understood by Muslims as Ahmad-Muhammad, however the definitions of both words are enough different that cannot mean the same.
5. Word Allah comes from common semitic word used to describe gods. So similarity Elohim - Allah shouldn't be treated as proof.

However words, which Jesus used (compare Luke 4.16-21) are taken from Isaiah 61.1-2 and refer exactly to the Messiah.
But there are over 300 prophecies refering to the Messiah in the Old Testament, between them is Psalm 2.6-8:
'[God] said to me: You're my son;
today I have begotten you'.
(some translations prefer: 'today I've become your father')
It is opposite to surah 112, etc.

Quran is really contradicted. You have to use the rule of abrogation (nasikh) to deal with that (Q2.106).
Other proof is that there are several different schools in Islam with such different as Sunni and Shia, and they cannot still agree with each other :-))) .
- I have not to look for sth wrong in Islam - it is enough read Quran & hadithes themselves.
Muhammad's life doesn't pass to modern times in many, many aspects. Following the medieval mentality today isn't ok.

@sylweg Muslim Sunni follow the Sunnah (teachings) of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), Shia came after the Prophet (pbuh). I won't go into great detail but we are all Muslims in the end of the day who believe in one God and all his messengers. The difference are like a Roman Catholic and a Christian. Dear, there are numerous manuscripts of the Bible (mostly in parts) which were already found.
The best known are QUMRAN SCROLLS, & CODEX SINAITICUS.
Qumran scrolls are dated as far as about 200 BC (so Christians couldn't falsify it). More, the text highly AGREES with Masoretic text of Old Testament (about 500-700 CE), despite they are independent from each other.

More, there are numerous copies of Old Testament written in Greek, so called Septuagint (LXX), which were used by non-Jewish proselytes, and amazingly they are consisted with Jewish-written OT.
The oldest known written fragment of OT comes from about 700BC & it is written in the silver (it is why it survived at all).
As you see, the Old Testament couldn't be falsified by Christians.
Jewish copied there religious book with great precision.

In the matter of Gospel, the Codex Sinaiticus survived in Monastery in Sinai since 4th century, and was forgotten until 19th century when was rediscovered by Constantin von Tischendorf.

These archeological discoveries, etc. show historical CONSISTENCY of modern Bible with texts from the past.

For Christians the most important is New Testament as it describes FULFILLMENT, in the person of Jesus Christ, of all Old Testament's prophecies about the Messiah,
as well as the way of life proposed by Jesus himself.
OT has about 300 prophecies touching the Messiah, fulfilled in NT.
According to one of OT's prophecies, the Messiah had to be some smaller than angels, so it really match with his position in the earth, he had.

I see Muhammad as a guy who tried implement his monotheistic religion in Mecca, so he was persecuted by polytheistic merchants (reason: money&power).

I agree with you, one should do their own research before making a decision about a certain topic.
I have a few muslim friends who I love dearly, but they're not excessively religious.
However, I can say that I definitely don't like what I've seen in the vast majority of the more religious muslims.
They, just like religious xstians are obsessed with violence and taking other people's freedoms away from them.
And death for apostacy might have smth to do with the high numbers of muslims.

I think Islam is as bad as Christianity, when you say "westerners" that is incredibly ambigeous, because "westerners" could apply towards all Europeans, Americans, who all have very different perspectives.
People are not cricizing the Islamic religion or the Koran. They are criticizing corrupt and violent clerics in the Islamic world who take advantage of their powers, and try to oppress others.
