All police officers in the Metropolitan police service (greater london police) are trained to a high standard in emergency life support including the use of AEDs and carry basic first aid kit.

@oterotularosa Officers joining the police force, by default are not issued with firearms, these aren't either, you can tell from the uniform. Officers wishing to progress to firearms units may do so and undertake specialist training, they then become AFOs (authorised firearms officers). AFOs typically work in separate units rather than being mixed in with local police.

@F1X0R121 very interesting setup they have. i always liked the traditional uniforms with over coat. looks real good. very interesting. one could also argue to those who put down the london police as street nazi's, that the slander they speak of is bull because if they were just that they would not carry med kits which is used for injured. obviously showing some sort of basic medical training in public, till a medic arrives. i like how they have the setup there. its very professional.

@oterotularosa The firearm's officer's uniform is similar, the only real difference is a blue shirt. Also they 9 times out of 10 carry an mp5 as well as a side arm taser also CS baton and h/cuffs so are very easy to spot. I don't think males wear the custodian either (the seriously impractical helmet). All police officers in the Metropolitan police service (greater london police) are trained to a high standard in emergency life support including the use of AEDs and carry basic first aid kit.

The police do catch rapists, burglars (have you heard of a spell checker by the way) and paedophiles among other criminals. How many "police murders" can you really count?
