If the aether existed, it would move with respect to space-time (as it was defined) and carry with it, light. Aether was abandoned exactly because of this. I work at a particle accelerator and actually see the effects of the nuclear forces, from QFT. I literally measure the scattering of particles ejected from helium cores, using muons. Muons are particles that can only be predicted with modern physics! Can you explain this? Kelvin wasn't alive to see this stuff, what makes him qualified to speak?

I can store anti-particles in a chamber and suck them out when I need using principles from statistical mechanics so I get the proper ratio for collisions. (they appear much less frequently than normal matter). I can tell when this doesn't work, and when it does. Explain why myself and a room full of dedicated scientists get this, and explain why the engineers we hire also get it?

Also, anybody who managed to get past a bachelor in physics could work at an intern here. Anybody who is in a masters or Ph.D program also can do so. In fact all the universities I live by have co-op programs to get people working at this accelerator (triumf).

It cherry picks like 3 legitimate papers from that era, and denies the entire context of the extracted information. It doesn't even have a clear purpose, it's all over the place. They say "he quantum interference without QM", then you read the paper and he just used semi-classical physics, which is entirely different.

I just scanned through it, but it seems they are trying to discuss a modification of the "historic" aether, in curved spacetime. Read the conclusions and you'll see the conditions that need to be confirmed for it to exist.

Just like we know way more than Newton, since we now have Lagrangian\hamiltonian mechanics. There are more functional anlaysis (analysis in general), since his time too. @iorixs the airforce redid the michelson/morley experiment in 1986 with more sophisticated technology and found that Ether is infact real and an actual substance of our reality and not only that but it is a field of energy that we are all connected to, like points of light on a grid. If the aether existed, it would move with respect to space-time (as it was defined) and carry with it, light. Aether was abandoned exactly because of this. It has no place in the models of GR because the universe is isotropic and homogeneous (approximately) everywhere.

I work at a particle accelerator and actually see the effects of the nuclear forces, from QFT. I literally measure the scattering of particles ejected from helium cores, using muons. Muons are particles that can only be predicted with modern physics! Can you explain this? Kelvin wasn't alive to see this stuff, what makes him qualified to speak?

I can store anti-particles in a chamber and suck them out when I need using principles from statistical mechanics so I get the proper ratio for collisions. (they appear much less frequently than normal matter). I can tell when this doesn't work, and when it does. Explain why myself and a room full of dedicated scientists get this, and explain why the engineers we hire also get it?

Also, anybody who managed to get past a bachelor in physics could work at an intern here. Anybody who is in a masters or Ph.D program also can do so. In fact all the universities I live by have co-op programs to get people working at this accelerator (triumf).

It cherry picks like 3 legitimate papers from that era, and denies the entire context of the extracted information. It doesn't even have a clear purpose, it's all over the place. They say "he quantum interference without QM", then you read the paper and he just used semi-classical physics, which is entirely different.

I just scanned through it, but it seems they are trying to discuss a modification of the "historic" aether, in curved spacetime. The aether as known before SR, was disproven wholly, variations of it seem to be hypothesized though. In theoretical papers like this, the intention is to build a model and see if it works. Read the conclusions and you'll see the conditions that need to be confirmed for it to exist.

If Aether does not exist then space-time bending is not possible. How can something act upon nothing? People have believed in the existence of the ether in many cultures including vicotrian scientists. To have this one "genius" tell you that it does not exist is probably the biggest sham in human history. The Aether DOES exist and most importantly, it is DYNAMIC.

@iorixs the airforce redid the michelson/morley experiment in 1986 with more sophisticated technology and found that Ether is infact real and an actual substance of our reality and not only that but it is a field of energy that we are all connected to, like points of light on a grid. It does not however show that the earth does not move, it does this is fact. Rather than proving geocentrism i would say it more so shows us our relationship bewteen consciousness and reality. since we all effect it

the electric universe view might REALLY help you understand what aether is and why it´s necessary, because relativity theory in itself might not necessarilly exclude aether, but einstein ALWAYS did. If I´m wrong, pls correct me and show me the evidence.
anyway relativity theory isn´t good for anything, it distorts our view of the universe. I mean, warped spacetime? only a warped mind could make that up, don´t you think?

To all those talking about "fields" - fields are merely exchanges of virtual photons or other virtual particles. When two electrons repel, they repel by exchanging virtual photons. An electron acts rather like a space ship, emitting a jet of photons, which causes it to change direction. That's all fields are - virtual particles!
A magnetic field is merely an exchange of virtual photons. Virtual particles r real particles that come into existence 4 a very short period of time, then vanish again.

Let it go. The Ether was a postulation, Einstein's theories of relativity on the other hand continues to be proven experimentally. Time dilation, Gravitational lensing and black holes are phenomena which have all been observed. Many of the assumptions about the ether were wrong, but there is much of the picture missing. We are at the point of knowing how mass and space-time interact but we need to know more about mass and possibly also about space-time. Go LHC.

The michelson morely argument against ether is insufficient. It only disproves a static ether that is not moving relative to earth.
What if ether exists as a web connecting all points in space-time, and light moves along the infinite possible strings of the ether.
When light is released, strings of ether representing all possible pathways connect the potential sources (different points in space representing the atom) with potential targets (different points in space representing other atoms).

In Spesial theory of relativity Einstein proved that aether not exist. But in second part (Theory of relativity) he declare that aether exist. Nowadays many clever people consider that Einstein was just a big swindler and his "theory" is bullshit.
