  • that was nice. technically accurate. great speed. Do me a favour, slow it way down and do it like an isometric excercise. grip the ground with the feet and root your stance. contract your stomach and focus each movment and coordinate your breath. try this for 1month and then tell me what you think.

  • @TheMartialartsJedi welcome to the Dark Side...external southern gung fu =D

  • @TheMartialartsJedi It's a very handy set. You can do it in your house on days you can't make it to the school or the weather is too nasty to go outside. Also, once you've tackled Gung Gee, you can revisit it and work in the brass rings.

  • FINALLY a good horsestance!! You have no idea how many people I have seen who are not concerned with mending their horsestances. Their feet are pointed at 45 degree angles, when an observant Kung Fu practitioner would recognize that the true power, and stability come from feet pointed forward. I respect your form, and your great footwork!

  • very good Arrow hand form- Softness within Soidity.

Wel done, good to see you are applying intent along with physical.

  • @103littlebastard thanks bro!

  • @drchango2010 im curently still at 'lau gar' fist set.... But redily use Arrow hand form.....I have also found this form great alongside of Qi gong Iron shirt form

    thanks again for posting

  • good stuff

  • It is good to wear two shirts while training. In the summer it creates a vapor barrier to keep one from overheating and in the winter, keeps the kidney warm. The kidney energy runs from the anatomic kidneys which are parallel with the elbows at each side, down to just below the knee. Two layers are good policy even in summertime.

  • @sukoming Vindication =)

  • the movements in hung gar look so awesome. i want to learn it but im a lazy fat shit :D

  • @986401 I'm lazy too, but for some reason kung fu triggers my OCD (my roommate wishes my OCD manifested itself in cleaning the kitchen, but he's SOL)

  • @drchango2010 same here lol but i do laundry ofcourse, im barely learning this i would of learned more if i went to school more often but real life is a bitch you know

  • Nice. I am not a Hung Gar practitioner but i still can appreciate the strong body structure and hip movement.

  • that set is great for working on turning, definitely one of my favorite subsets to practice when I don't have a whole lot of open space.

  • hey bro how are you love your form take care

  • Doing pretty well, how are you?

    And thanks!

  • good job

  • thanks, man

    nice screen name=)

  • a joint lock, yes, when the person grabs the arm you shift the other hand over and scrape his hand off, is that the application you speak of? The move is done over and over, it is in number 0:27- 0:29 the continuous crossing of the hands move

  • yep, that's it=)

  • The arrow Hand was developed by Lam Sai Wing as a Basic form before you start your Gung Gee, We don't teach this in our school, but its a great form.

  • cool, thanks for the info

  • What are you doing when you cross your arms in front over top of eachother? What is the applications for that, do you know?

  • suppressing a high thrust kick to the chest. The application isn't done out of a 'squared up' horse stance, if that makes any sense. Also, it can be used as defense against an attempted joint lock. I'll try to record some of the apps for this and a few other forms and post them on youtube

  • Hello again, can you tell me a bit more about this form, the history and details? Is it a smaller section of the heart penetrating form? I know it is used by Wing Lam in introduction to Hung Gar but I was wondering about the origins.

    Thanks

  • My Hung Gar sifu learned it from Darius Ross, prior to training with Chiu Chi-Ling. Grandmaster Chiu doesn't teach the form, but I have seen Sifu Mak of Hong Kong do a slightly longer version of the form. As to where Darius Ross got the form, all I can say is 'I dunno', since we could never figure out exactly who he trained with=/
