The bit where they do a Vulcan kiss through the glass is always amazing to see. I love the Trek movies because about half of them are basically focusing on Kirk/Spock in a very obviously romanitic way! And I agree with everyone who says Spock/Uhura in the recent movie (which I very much enjoyed otherwise!) was weird, Spock isn't the type to start snogging some girl at illogical times (FOR A START). Very out-of-character. :/

I grew up with Star Trek, from the beginning in the 1960s. So almost every episode the first time around, and caught the few I didn't see in the '70s. Saw the movies when the came out originally. And I burst out laughing when I saw the new Uhura kiss the new Spock on the transporter pad.  Really!! How ridiculous. The Universe didn't change that much!!!

I'm about to cry. I've only seen parts of TOS of Star Trek, and clips on youtube. Big Spirk fan thanks to the movie, WHICH I LOVE TO DEATH!!! (watched more then a person should a movie)

And, after watching this video, I'll be upset if the sequel doesn't have touchy feely with Spock and Kirk. Sure Spock is with Uhura, but if they wanna be true to the show, they better have something, even if it's a TINY bit, like in the first, but better lol.

My whole issue with S/U is the fact that Scotty/Uhura is canon as of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. That's my legit, non-slashy reason for my anti-S/U-ness.

As a recomendation to a fellow new Trekkie, go watch Star Trek II and Star Trek III. Clear out an afternoon for it.

TOS you can find on the 'Net for free (Internet Movie Database is the best for this, if you wikipedia an episode list first). My dad had The Wrath of Khan and The Search for Spock on tape already (I knew there was a reason I kept my TV with the built-in VCR!!!), so I didn't have to buy those.

For some reason, the moment at 2:12 -- with the reunion (finally!) of our two favorite characters in "The Search for Spock", the slow motion reaction and the smoke, the climax of the song, and both Kirk and Spock looking completely vulnerable for just one achingly long moment -- just kills me every time. Wonderful editing. I love your use of close-ups and slow motion.
