If you have problems on the high end.... Im just guessing here I dont know. Could be running out of fuel. IE needs bigger injectors. Or Ive heard STS kits have a problem if youre running headers.
Yea a stock ls1 should be putting down at least 300 to the wheels. Much below that and youve probably got a problem. Around 340-350 at the crank. The sts kit I looked at said whp on 5lbs of boost and 200 whp on 8 lbs of boost. The guys I know that play with turbos tell me thats about right. So an ls1 with an 8 lbs sts kit should be putting down around 500 to the ground.
I have a 2000 ws6 almost identical to yours with 20K on it I am trying to decide between the Trick Flow head/cam kit and the STS. The StS looks easier to install but the trick flow kit promisses 515 hp and 460 ft lbs. Did you have to upgrade the cooling system or anything? I appreciate your reply.
no i haven't had any problems with overheating then again i haven't run it full tilt for an extended period of time before either but a cooling system can always do some good
@500SWMAGOPERATOR yeah your one of those idiots who is bias to american cars, i respect horsepower. american or import you pull numbers i'm respecting it.
@breezynutz1458 With a user name of breezynuts I wouldn't point fingers or call names. If you live in America show support for American works and buy American. If you live in Japan or Korea then support those companies and thier workers. I was proudly born in America and will support it !
@500SWMAGOPERATOR i respect all cars, i don't care if it's a Ferrari or cobalt ss. i'm building a 3800 supercharged grand prix and a 2005 nissan sentra turbo project. so like i said respect hp not the thing holding it.
@500SWMAGOPERATOR Lol, you think these American cars are actually built in America? The parts are manufactured in America? No, but most USDM Hondas and Toyotas are.
@wotanzorz Ever car and truck that I have owned so far were made in the Us or Canada. If I need to replace a part or wish to upgrade I always look for parts that are made in the us. At times I may have to look harder, but I always try to support the workers here. Without demand and and support more workers would lose thier jobs. Neither Honda or toyota make anything comparable to what I drive. How many of those offer rear wheel drive v-8s t tops or 4 wheel drive big blocks and HD 1 ton suspen,?
Ask around apparently it doesn't but some people say that once you get to the higher rpm's is where you lose problems apparently due to something with the turbos temperatures not being hot enough, but I don't know anything about those things and believe it to be bs talk.
What? That's what most LT-1's make and I would know because that's exactly what mine put down to the rear wheels even at 117,000 miles. It seems some people get some terrible numbers off there's, but I don't personally own a ls1 so I can't say.
its a lt1 not an ls1 and ls1 is a 5.3 litr
wickedjuggaloful 1 month ago
@wickedjuggaloful 98-02 Firebird and Camaro had the LS1 and the LS1 is a 5.7 liter. If you do not know what you are talking about then shut up.

@Trooper22Paintball Yeah.. my boosted civic SI would probably rape that thing up and down, and it has a measly 4 cylinder motor in it.

@breezynutz1458 Evo's are made from two beer cans and a plastic bag. I think there is one stuck in the wheel well of my truck.

This video was absolutely sick and it totally just made my day, but I really wish we could of seen some inside/outside car acceleration!

Does it lag at all or affect your low-end torque?

did you have to rebuild your engine to handle 13psi
resendez08 2 years ago
Those kits make 500hp to the wheels on 8lbs of boost on the LS1.
mrwangchung 2 years ago
im going to guess around like 10-13 lab. of boost
654321yhtaeD 2 years ago
It did take 13 psi to make the 500hp. Stock LS1's are 275-285whp

khdude2000 1 year ago
@allgood57 thats a little low, the 01-02 Trans Ams were putting down over 300 stock, my 02 put down 319hp and 339tq completely stock
