Tyr is my favorite band, but strangely enough, this is the one and only song they have ever recorded (and I've heard every one many times) that I just can't bring myself to like. It's just a bit to un-folky and authentic. Take Your Tyrant has the same problem. Please don't think I'm hating on Tyr, they are my favorite band ever! That's just my opinion.

For the most part it still is, not to mention there were a couple catholic Scholars that investigated the truth behind the link between Christianity and Paganism, the book was called "The Jesus Mysteries: Was Jesus a Pagan God?" Oddly enough after their discovery they were kicked out of their church. Amazing read though, and it includes ALL of their references and sources of information so that you could follow up their research if you don't believe them.

Sveinbjörn Beinteinsson got it reestablished as an official religion in Iceland in 1990, under a new name, Asatru (Was named this in the 1940s), and some now call it Odinism.

@berserkur19 No, because (1) if our ancestors were British, we probably do have some Scandinavian blood. Danes settled much of England, and Norwegians settled in northwest England and the Hebrides. And (2) the Anglo-Saxons worshipped the same gods as the Scandinavians, before they became Christian.

hmm.. i don't have any religious beliefs. But I listen to this because I enjoy what some would call the mythology, and some would call religion. (And because the music is kick ass.)

For the most part it still is, not to mention there were a couple catholic Scholars that investigated the truth behind the link between Christianity and Paganism, the book was called "The Jesus Mysteries: Was Jesus a Pagan God?" Oddly enough after their discovery they were kicked out of their church. Amazing read though, and it includes ALL of their references and sources of information so that you could follow up their research if you don't believe them.
