i went to an australian catholic primary school and i remember drawing the Pentecost as a comic and the disciples running around screaming and swearing trying to stamp out the fires and throwing buckets of water at eachothers faces . the teachers liked it because it was the best drawing in the class and my humor was greatly appreciated.

I'm an atheist and I think suspending kids for drawing Jesus on a cross or whatever is going WAY too far. As long as people aren't cramming their religion down your throat at every which turn, they should have the right to believe what they want without having people flipping out about it.

When I was 8, we were told to write a story about waking up as whoever you wanted. My friends chose football players, skateboarders... I chose to wake up as Death.
I never got sent to a child psychologist, and in fact my short story was published in a book of stories written by children. I'm not sure if it's nationality difference here, but why on Earth did this kid get suspended and sent to a psychologist for drawing something that is taught to most children at school?

Doesn't stand to reason that the schools would be promoting intolerance to Xtianity. Besides this had nothing to do with religion other than the assumption (reasonable) Christ was being depicted. The issue is the school officials determination of what made a violent image & their over reaction to it

i went to an australian catholic primary school and i remember drawing the Pentecost as a comic and the disciples running around screaming and swearing trying to stamp out the fires and throwing buckets of water at eachothers faces . the teachers liked it because it was the best drawing in the class and my humor was greatly appreciated.

My friends five year old brother painted Jesus on the cross.... It was put in with lots of other paintings and will be hung up at the new school.... Wow, just shows how different schools are in different areas. :/

The crux of the issue is that the muslim mindset and behavour actually promotes itself on interpreting and carrying out Qur'anic shari'a as the literal word of a deity; eg Iranian civil law has regressed by centuries since the 1979 revolution.

The 'moderate muslim' claim that jihad is a 'spiritual struggle' is completely false with no mention of it in that book or hadith. It;s strictly violent all the way ... saying peaceful Muslims are hypocrites, destined for hell. They are "the worst of creatures," "the most vile of animals." (Qur'an surahs 3 and 33.) Read it.
