@frankvanhevel Hi, nice to hear from one of these people who kept this highly sophisticated piece of technology running that well, that it's still doing a good job in Tokyo bay today.
I would like to mention that all Boeing Jetfoils were built at their Renton, Washington plant, a suburb of Seattle, Washington, USA. I was involved in many phases of the development of the Jetfoil and later, their operations around the world. This video and others on this site are a real flashback for me. Thanks, I enjoyed it very much.
@Martin33125 Hi, thank you for your comment. For me it is the highlight of the day to read your message, for such moments it was worth doing the upload.
The Boeing Jetfoil is a very unique design. Easy to see it that it was not a ship builder who tried to rise a ship over the waterline - it' more like a low flying plane. A great step in innovation of fast ships.
I went on the RMT Jet Foil a few times. I used to work for British Rail Engineering and we got "Free" Tickets on Sealink ferries, RMT were joined up with Sealink (We had to pay £1.80 Port Tax). For £5.00 you could upgrade to the Jetfoil. Super Holidays.
ha the good old days. I was actually born in ostend. I remember when i was little these things made a hell of a noise but super fast. Never actually had the opportunity to be on one. It's seems we are going back in time instead of forward.
thx for the vid. It brings back memories of me as maintenance engineer with these jetfoils at Ostend.

@carpediem1956 Thank you for your comment.
Yes, you are right. From Belgium, even here from Cologne, the channel tunnel is not really a profit.
