Net als VHS naar DVD wordt SD video geupscaled naar HD niet automatisch ook betere kwaliteit... dus zonde van de bandbreedte eigenlijk.

Maar het blijft een klasieker!

@jortlaban Het geluid wordt (of in der tijd) op 480p altijd minder dan het bronbestand, met 720p is mijn ervaring dat het beter is.

Als het geluid bij 480p niet goed is, is er iets mis met je instellingen. 720p en goed geluid hebben feitelijk niets met elkaar te maken. je haalt resolutie en bandbreedte door elkaar.

@jortlaban De term 720p heeft misschien niets met het geluid te maken, maar youtube converteert videos met bepaalde settings voor het geluid. Zover ik weet zijn die settings (bitrate oid) simpel hoger voor het geluid bij een 720p video.

@Arietje at the moment, 360p en 480p videos have 128 kbps AAC audio. 720p en 1080p have 152 kbps AAC audio. i think 128 kbps AAC is good enough (it's better than 128 kbps MP3), and one should not upscale SD video to HD.
