  • can someone help me again...i looked on the website again and found out it isnt available anymore..why?!!?

  • awesome review. thx for that !

  • um..i believe in the video you say it has windows 7 and it does look like your using it but on the website it says it has windows vista....so could i ask...why?

  • @alexrodriguez313 Obviously a misprint on the site, even in the video you can see it's win7.

  • oh sorry i see that you can download it, sorry blunty

  • Excellent review! It would be *really* interesting to know its 3DMark05 benchmark result. 1000$ is a bit too high price, I am sure it can be found for at least 200$ less.

  • what version of samsung r522 is this???

  • @Elementality18 Read the description, click on the link xD

  • You're right but I wanted to know which version is the notebook. Ahadi, Edira or other

  • i have the intel x4500MHD graphics card i can play newest games on low and sometimes on medium settings but im going to update to this ati radeon HD 4650 :D

  • samsung never ceases to impress me! XD

  • Excellent Review mate

  • for anyone interested it costs $549.99 (USD) at best buy. (2.1Ghz, 3GB RAM, 250GB hard drive)

  • lol i got one, an upgrade, i got speekers: wireless mouse, keybord, 2gb ram but i added and extro 1gb ram, and i didnt get a demo with it lolls

  • Ninjas use macs.

  • pc are the best on the market so gtfo

  • You say PC... I would say Windows because MAC and Windows is a Personally Computer. Dumb ass. MAC FOR THE WIN!!!

  • To anybody who has tested this laptop out on games, does it run as smoothley as he says it does? Because Im looking for one like this, and I want it to play a fair few amount of various games.

    Anyone?

  • LOL, "Cheeto stained fingers of the average world of warcraft player". My god this guy pulls out funny shit no matter what hes doing!!

  • thank you so much. ive been looking for those exact specs in a laptop for a while, and didnt bother checking out samsung.

  • Nice

I have the Samsung R510 which is almost the same, but then silver instead of black and has Vista.

I'm very satisfied with this machine. It is one of the best ones out in stores.

  • :O smoth... worth buying?

  • Wow. It's a laptop. Like pretty much any other laptop. It runs games, it's shiny and it has connectors on it. Cool. I must get one once I wake up. Sorry I like to have an occasional dig at Blunty from time to time. Never figured out why. Maybe I'm jealous of his subscriber count :D

  • only 512MB RAM....

  • The GPU has dedicated 512MB RAM.

The computer itself has 4GB or RAM.

Finish the review before you say something silly :p

  • lols =]

  • What a flawless review. Well done. 5 stars

  • What a flawless review of a review. Well done. 5 stars

  • nice review, any tips on good video editing rig?

  • 1. Machine looks great, very innovative USB/ESATA Port.

    2. Why does samsung need to write "Live Cam"?

    3. Does the average person need to be reminded of Windows, Intel, ATI Graphics card, Energy Saving... everyday? If not, why do we have those stickers there???? I can understand USB or Ethernet...

  • I'm surprised it doesn't have a blu-ray player... My laptop does, lol

Not to say mine is better, but I don't have many complaints. Except my volume sucks. External speakers ftw

  • I have more HD movies I downloaded from itunes store than Blu-ray disks... I guess blu-ray never took off. Burning blu-ray is still good... but I have a gut feeling Steve Job's has just trumped the industry once again.

  • you look like kevin smith

  • he probably gets that a lot...

  • LMAO nice try ;)

  • what is the whole number of the model you used?

because I am on a price-check site and they where all called R522-FSO3, or R522-JSO4 and about 8 more.

so please reply, even if it's highly unlikely, given the number of comments on this video.

  • I bought the Samsung R519 a few weeks ago for course work, and I'm very pleased with it. Doesn't get hot, keeps going for a good 4 hours... A decent work laptop.

  • i have the same version. i really like how silent it runs and how well its made. like the review, i would say niether spectacular nor shit. HOWEVER... i see it doesnt have half as many ports and the usb ports are on the left...why? my mouse plugs in and i have to wrap the cable around the whole laptop! silly really

  • @aido179 m8 Im keeping my laptop on all the time even at nights and noise really disturbing me. This review says its ninja silent I really want to know what he mean by that. I would appreciate if someone already have it answer. If I run it at lowest performance is that device silent like a mobile phone ? Cause thats what I understand from ninja silence :) Some say my laptop is silent but atm Im using Acer 6930 and when I compare it with their device all the time the 1 Im using is more silent.

  • @aliihsanasl yeah, runs about as silent as a mobile. the only noise i get is the air moveing through the vent, not the fan. and the occasional hard drive spinning up but all in all its ninja silent.

  • @aliihsanasl you'll see a guy running on F8 button, use it with Fn and you will be impressed.

  • @acifdaloz if I would have the laptop I would press but I dont :D My Acer 6930 is really quiet but I would prefer something totally fanless all these laptops have high cpu and gpu power they need cooling.

  • the computer that i love and have is a mac book pro the screen is amazing

  • yeah me too....i think i ninja would choose it too

  • a great very detailed review i'll search for one of these

  • Tempting but I think I'm gonna buy a desktop as my next purchase.

  • toshiba shits on samsung

  • am i the only one who has noticed that over the years the audio software has gotten quieter but clearer?

for me, i first noticed this with windows vista computers in that the stereo isn't really all that impressive when trying to drown out surrounding noise

  • lol 2 hours of battery holy crap i barely saw 1 and a half hours outve a c700 hp laptop and now i dont see anything at all outve it ive overcharged my batter and now it doesnt work :(

  • Hey Blunty, how fast did it take it to get hot? Every laptop I've owned seems to run hot after such a short amount of time >.>

  • @InvisableFlame Y'know, now I think of it, I can't recall it ever getting especially warm let alone hot. *shrug*

  • @Blunty3000 Hey! Is it 4 GB of ram? Because from what i can tell, it says 2 on the website (;

  • @huliheaden Yes, 4gb

  • I never knew that Australia's money was colourfull. Its just like ours xD

  • @TheRealPerson and it's plastic! I love our money, we can swim with it :P

  • OMG really?!!!?!??!

We got to get Stephen Harper to make our money plastic xD

  • Another great review by you.

  • Pretty light? I have a lighter laptop (5.4 lbs, 2.4 kg) and I think my laptop is a little too heavy. Anyway, this is a pretty decent laptop, but I dont think its anything worth making a video about.

  • I was curious if you would do a review of the Gateway® NV7802u. I thus far had a pleasurable use of it myself. If not I am curious how much in Aussie dollars it would cost. Love the reviews by the way. Thanks for anything possible.

  • @blunty3000, then why does it have a Intel Centrino sticker on the palm rest? and as i recall, Core 2 is a complete different brand of processor, i dont mean to sound all shouty but why does it say Intel Centrino.

  • You're confused. the Centrino mark is not an indication of the type of CPU, Intel ahve "rebranded" the way they use the Centrino mark a few times over the years, check the entry on Wikipedia to clear up how they're using it now... I can assure you, the CPU in this laptop is indeed the Core 2 Duo, as indicated by the tech specs, and reported by windows system profile information itself.

  • Man, you really do good reviews, not like those idiots out there that just copy what others say. That DSi review impressed me. I needed to know if it could do WPA security on a WiFi network. I never found this info online, and no one even mentioned WPA, but you mentioned it doesn't work for gaming.

  • Blunty do you know of any cost effective gaming laptops?

  • hmm by thsat spec u could play the latest games for a while as in STO or SC2 because there spec limitaions arn't that high and will be playeble on this laptop but i have all ways found mouses and superior to pads any day of the weak

  • hey Blunty3000 are you a pc gamer?

  • @TearsOfWar1 Nope.

  • He should be :(

  • Im a mac user myself but if i were to get a PC laptop I would definately look into this.

  • hello....

  • Spill resistance sounds like the sweet call of heaven to me.... can't tell you how many keyboard's I've turned into sticky nightmares, nor the egregious waste of soda pop such activity is...

  • u should review games again blunty

  • @sp4rt4n08 When I buy, (or get sent a review copy of) a new game I surely will.

  • Sorry Blunty, it must've been your accent. I thought you said "stool resistant" at 3:55 but after watching it again, you said "spill resistant". Sorry about that. I didn't have much time to backtrack as I was getting ready for work while it was streaming. I raised a brow going like, "Did he just say stool resistant?" I couldn't help but chuckle, but now I understand you. Again, sorry.

  • @blunty I think it is a pretty nice laptop, but i am not really a fan of the less powerful Intel Centrino, i prefer intel pentium dual core or core 2, and i am pretty sure the touch pad lights up so you can locate it in the dark without the screen brightness turned up to full.

  • Dude, listen more carefully, it's a "Core 2 Duo", superior to both your "preferred" choices.

  • Windows fail! Linux ftw (not tryen to be a troll if you wanna argue about this go somewhere else)

  • YES!! 8D REVIEW!! It looks really nice~

  • Great review.

  • did you say neither shit nor spectacular? O_o

  • @HeWhoDarez what you saw and assumed was a port is nothing more than a blank cap.

  • rly cool laptop, but im still in love with my macbook

  • agreed.

  • This is very like my Compaq Presario laptop... It's a bit better because it's newer, but it has pretty much all the same stuff AND because of the widescreen there is space beside the keyboard for a numberpad - I never use them anyway... but it looks cool

  • no usb 3.0 :(?

  • wish it was 1080p

  • good review but I love my mac book pro

  • 4:49 autotune

  • internet port dont worry you'll never use that port

  • how much is that in GBP?

  • Google a currency conversion site and tap in the Aussie dollar amount, and select GBP.

This took me about 10 seconds to do and it's £568, at the time of writing.

    You're connected to the Internet.

In case you missed the memo, this means you're hooked up to the greatest information source to have ever existed in human history.

Some people's laziness apparently knows no bounds. ;D

  • NIce laptop- wouldn't mind one myself :P and not all world of warcraft players are cheeto or whatever eating and have incredibly stick fingers, and sit there for hours and hours and hours doing nothing else... only most...

  • Typical Samsung fare if you ask me, well built, well designed, fairly priced, and totally useful.

  • I have the R610. it has a blueray player and HDMI massive screen and a lovely red fade colour. I must say, the gloss finnish is horrible it attracts so much dust.

  • 3:56 hehehe SPILL RESISTANT thats good to know he he he

  • athernaayt xD its pronounced eethernet

  • I agree. But I know some people who also say Ehthernet as well.

  • internet port

  • wow you are really good at doing reviews

  • and the graphics card?

  • @edvinastox was mentioned specifically. what is your question?

  • sorry about that, i missed it lol nice review ;)

  • Another review ?

  • This guys vocabulary is vast if this is winged

  • Lol Good review, Samsung is really setting the standard with their innovations.

  • samsung devices never fail to do their job well. i didn't know that there were e-sata/usb combo ports, ty for that information.

btw, my laptop is about 2 years old now and alrdy had an HDMI output, that's not that super special awesome ;)

  • ever*

  • hey blunty, has anyone every told you that you'd make a great salesmen lol :D

  • @cs2sasuke150 What if he turns out to be the next Billy Mays? O.o

  • only 1k bucks?

  • That's virtually identical on the USB/DVD/Extras connectors to the Dell and Compaq. And the sound on a laptop? Never heard one any better than a cheap transistor radio :P

  • Great Review Blunty!

  • samsung is dumb ..... if you want a stable system, you dont freakin use INTEL with ATI .. omg

  • Samsung sure knows what we (clients) like to buy.

    Very nice review, Blunty!

  • nice review

  • Hey Blunty. Is their any way you can do a review on the Dell Studio XPS 1640 laptop?

  • @

TravvyG Not unless Dell send me a review unit, no.

  • i have owned samsung mp3 players, tv's and even monitors, samsung makes amazing hardware

  • @xAlucard9000x not mobile phones o.O?

  • True, their mobile phone are great aswell.

  • Loved the vid.

1 thing though, that blue lighted square around the touchpad does serve a purpose, for me atleast. I quite regularly find myself using my laptop either in the dark, or in a poorly lit room, (lecturers using a projection display for example. So the blue highlight is a great way for me to tell where exactly i can put my fingers, without having to squint to see the black touchpad, against a black laptop. :)

  • i love your reviews :)

  • I don't eat Cheetos ;_; I do eat a lot of Ramen though and believe it out nit the noodles sometimes get into the keys.

  • I have that laptop currently and is one of the best laptops on the market for the price.

  • that 512 is a teribl deal w/ where tech is today.

you could get something munch more robust at best buy or an office max or staples

  • @1DjRadeoConscyous Try listening dude, it has 4GB of system memory, TWICE what is common amongst budget Laptops currently, the 512Mb I mentioned was the ram specific to the *video card chipset*.

  • ooo well my b again

  • I dont eat cheetoes D:

  • what about freetoes or doretoes? any member of the etoes family? lol

  • I mostly eat nuts and dried fruit when I raid :3

  • A healthy WoWer? Wts?

  • lmfao

  • Cool Video

  • My laptop battery sucks :(

  • is the screen matte or glossy

  • @mariolqa Glossy, the hint was the part where I said "Glossy screen".

  • @Blunty3000 - Yo man :D you actually answer alot of comments, it's pretty rare dude :P

  • Sorry for making comments in the middle of the video but I really watched it all, I mightve not heard something because I'm Polish and Its hard to understand pure AU accent ;)

  • @mariolqa lol try listening man

  • I'm not a man and its hard for me to fully hear and understnad his fast talk with AU accent...

  • Theres nothing like a Blunty review!

  • hey blunty how much do you reckon it is for the UK im looking for a laptop around £300-£700 and i wanna get the best deal any suggestions?

  • @thebritishgeek Google it. they're plenty of sites that specialize in comparing prices etc

  • very nice , i like samsung and what makes it good is the ati card , better than intel and the laptop looks nice too

    thanks for the vid 5/5

  • 1,000? I love how the makers (and even video game makers) decide to throw a dart at a bord to detrmine price. I know not everyone will sell this machine at that price but when will a laptop come out thats decent and affordable??? .....and not emachine

  • @TheArtsyTuber It's hardly "dart at a board". The price is based on cost of manufacture, R&D, competitive market pressures, which demographic it's aimed at and marketing.

  • Yeah thats true but I know sometimes they dont have to spend toomuch making it....and another part of me is hell bent on thinking they just decide to round up to a number that just says 'MINEY!! GIMME!"

  • The Touchpad Ring DOES have a function:

If its dark and stuff you can see it better.

  • Blunty3000, me and a group of koolaid drinking hippies are thinking about starting the cult of Blunt; not only a subscription, but a new religion :)

    Bloooooosebaba.

    TPJ

  • @Thepiratejoe Maybe there already IS one and only the worthy are told? ;P

  • Ninjas don't need laptops.

    Ninjas communicate telepathically.

  • for a g how many gigs of ram do i get and how big is the hd drive and wht kind of chip

  • @1DjRadeoConscyous Try listening dude, all that was detailed in the video.

  • o sorry ill have to play it back cause i was multy tasking

  • Blunty... GIF ME IT!

  • @RockLou Sorry dude, I gotta send it back. heh.

  • Lots of Samsung products being reviewed these days..

It's good to see you replying to comments though (:

  • @Zxdftyu It's not any particular bias, (though I do have a lot of confidence in the quality of Samsung gear, always have done), it's because I've made a good contact at a PR firm who have samsung as a client and they've been kind enough to let me borrow stuff for review :) (got some nifty home theater gear on loan for the next review coming soon too)

  • Looking forward to that review then. :)

  • Woah thanks for the review... Seriously wants one of those xD

  • so Blunty, would I guess you more to be a MAC user? It's all good with me, ive got the best of both worlds, a macbook pro with boot camp to run both.

  • @CONSOLETRUTH Yup.

  • @BLUNTY, another mac head, nice, too bad the cost for them there down under is astronomical compared to the states.

  • If noone has already mentioned it, the reason for the glowing ring around the touch pad, is so users at night time will be able to see where they put there finger.

  • @Firstblood1111 But unless your finger is already on it, or has only just been on it moments ago, already, it doesn't glow.

  • I guess it is so you don't move off it then, otherwise it is indeed just to look good.

    Nice review.
