I can't stand horror movies anymore. All the good ones were made years ago. Now Hollywood keeps recycling the same tired ideas over and over again.

@mrm1775: Well I agree that slasher movies presently are awful movies. Yet, some are original and are instant classics.. yet all of these were made years ago... I agree with you! When I mean years ago I mean everything before the texas chainsaw massacre.. The original halloween was a fun movie as well.

I agree with you, father. It seems to me that it should be intuitively obvious that as people view more slasher flicks they would become desensitized to the shock, horror and violence depicted in the flick. I don't know if any studies have been done on this but it would make an interesting investigation.

I always avoid the bloody slasher and horror flicks. It is not entertainment IMHO.

i remember when horror movies scared you sensless with the music and the knowing something/one was behind the person, no blood needed, now days it's a blood fest.
