He wrote this song for Jeff Buckley. He tells a great story on a radio show about Jeff being a guitar tech for The Commitments when they went on tour. He took him to Sin-e and asked Jeff to sing Sweet Thing with him, Jeff quit as the tech and stayed in NYC. After he heard the news of Jeff passing away he wrote this song. :)

Saw him with Eddie Vedder at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland last night. Awesome show! One of the newspapers here has a setlist for the show, and it lists this song as Song of Good Hope.

Just saw him with Eddie Vedder last night at the Santa Barbara Bowl and he closed with this song. Literally everyone around me were in tears. Absolutely amazing!
