  • This man has a beard. How can we trust him?

  • lol

  • How can we NOT trust him? I'd follow a beard anywhere.

  • agreed.

  • So spread the word and buy my book. LOL

  • Think Ill go for a grant on how global warming has affected the sea trout and what plans they have for risk management while crossing the stream to ocean system. LOL cant believe your taking this so seriously. We should have had you arround while Y2K was going on or the Ice age in the 40's. Get a life and think for yourself.

  • Watched your other videos before this one. I now understand the motivation there is a lot of money to be earned from this global warming thing. How do I get in on the action?

  • am i too late too help?

  • ... schootheater ... what do you think ?

  • Part 4(final)

Thanks for all of the hard work. Keep it up. I know there is a lot more for you to do in this story. I look forward to your next production(s) whatever they may be!

    Cheers!

  • Part 3

I am so excited and happy that you are doing this book and will definitely be one of the people to buy it the minute it is published.

The first time I saw your video I thought it was an authority and subsequently watch ALL your videos at the same time. I stayed up all night and into the next morning (that was in January of 2008)

  • Part 2

When translating it why not suggest that your translators look for references in their culture, language, country etc... so that it is a little more personal to them and not North American-English centric. Additionally, suggest that the qualified translator find scientific references in that language or country etc what fits the same sets of data that your references have in the English version of the book.

  • Hey,

suggestion about you book and translating it into other languages (which I hope you will do so that everyone who can read will get the opportunity to read it in their native language)...

  • fantastic news :)

    can't wait to read it!

  • Awesome work

    keep it up mate!

  • Very Cool!!!! I will see what I can do to help, and I will send this to alot of others. :D thanks man!!!

    Bless Ya

  • Thank you for all your time and effort making your excellent series of videos. I will do what I can to help you.

Anyone who would like to speak with me about this issue or just flame me over my comments please feel free to PM me -- I will respond.

Although we may not agree on the GW issue etc... I sincerely do wish Greg the very best of luck with the book.

    P.S.

    A word of advice.

Greg dude! - loose the facial hair man!

    Goog luck and goodby.

  • Leave the facial hair be! We need a bare-knuckle boxer fighting for our planet!

  • WAKeele: you totally made my day! Haven't laughed that hard in a long time. You know, I may just go for it because of your comment. :-)

  • HERE HERE! I'm glad I could be of service. Maybe you could use it to promote the book. Of course, you'll have to gets from suspenders and wear plain colored, preferably white, long sleeve shirts with flat-front wool pants. Oh, and don't forget the hat...wait, who am I kidding here. I know you've got the hat covered! ;)

  • Errr, this will teach me NOT to proof read! *gets ya some*

  • (1 of 2)

I'm going to leave this thread now.

I don't what to dominate this thread as I think it's unfair to Greg.

Greg has been really cool allowing me comment. I think this shows the sort of person he is. He didn't have to unblock me -- but he did. I have total respect for him and out of this respect I will not comment here anymore.

  • Sounds like somebody needs to view the Manpollo Objections page, no? =)

  • Why don't some people believe in climate change or even think "ohh yeah it does seem a little warmer every year it might be real..." I don't get it some people just don't think...

  • Dude - most people can't perceive a half a degree change.

I don't think there are too many people that don't believe the planet has warmed a bit - the science is pretty clear on that.

However I believe people are getting more and more skeptical about the cause - scientists included.

  • c02lies--I'm interested in getting it right. Everything I've seen (evidenced by the statements of AAAS, NAS, the Royal Society, USCAP, ExxonMobil, Shell) indicates LESS skepticism about the cause. I'd be very interested to know what causes you to conclude the opposite? I am of course aware of the individual dissenting scientists (Lindzen, Christy, et al), but stacked up against AAAS and NAS, they don't hold sway. What convinces you to say "more and more...scientists included"?

  • Congrats man, You deserve it. Good luck.

  • Whoops. I inadvertently blocked c02lies from commenting. I will do that occasionally when someone has made it very clear that their objective is to obfuscate rather than clarify, but I try to do that only after a public warning to not dodge others' questions and counters to them. I failed to do that here and apologize. I think I've managed to unblock c02lies and s/he's free to answer your questions, if s/he chooses.

  • grats on the book. intense facial hair.

  • Good work man..... Why dont you publish a book on the topic "How it all ends" ? with your research, you can make it easier and that would make a better impression. Just a suggestion...All the best dude...

  • you're a great man. C;

  • The most Terrifying Book you'll Ever Read?

  • Good thing that you were chosen to do this.

I don't know if it will help, try to show in your book the events that are happening now in result of global warming. There is a documentary in dyscovery chanel cald "Could it happen here?" and in this documantary demonstrates some of that...

    I hope this helped.

    (don't mind the crapy english)

  • you should probably post this on the forum like he said.

  • You wanna get people listening to you? When the book is published, if you do a press tour, go on the Daily Show first. Forget Lenno and Good Morning America, the Daily Show should be a top priority. The young folks, the smart folks, the internet savvy folks, they're watching the Daily Show because they want change as much as you and me and a lot of us do.

  • Congrats on the deal! I will help as I can if I can find some time.

  • The most terrifying thing about your videos is you may have convinced some, especially young kids, the ignorant and weak of mind, to believe what you've said is proven science. But it is not. Most if not all is conjecture, guess work, half truths and IPCC lies. YOU are perpetuating lies started by an origination that has admitted that their objectives are political NOT scientific.

If you write a book, make it scientifically based with only proven FACTS.

    TELL THE REAL SCIENCE STORY!!!!

  • What's your occupation and background?

  • Are the NAS and the AAAS all just a bunch of lying conspirators? So who should we turn to for good science - Rush L.? --- No, seriously, who would you turn to for good science?

  • There is a lot of research going on out there. Seriously do your research and you'll find it. Checkout Bob Carters lectures here - on utube - very informative.

The evidence is mounting on a daily biases as are the scientists that are finding no links to C02.

Over 31,000 scientists have signed a petition saying so - another 400 have presented a petition to the U.S senate.

But if you would rather believe the IPCC who admit their objectives are political and not scientific - go ahead.

  • Dr. Carters' points are valid, and I respect his perspective on our climbing thirty-year panic regarding the environment and global warming, but you seem to have missed the ultimate conclusion of his speech: CO2 is not the ultimate cause of 'Global Warming', but it is a pollutant.

Secondly, you also seem to have missed Mr. Cravens' points. He approaches his thesis with pure logic regarding the 'prospect' of Global Warming, not the reality. Please do your research, too.

    ---->

  • Hey - wait a minute.

I never said that there hasn't been any warming - I said it has not been induced by rising C02 as Bob so clearly shows.

He also clearly states C02 IS NOT a pollutant or a toxic gas.

Did you even listen to the lecture?

He clearly demonstrates the facts, the only conclusion drawn is C02 is not and has never has been responsible for GW at any time ever.

The science shown is clear on that.

    Go back and listen.

Gregs logic is - "we don't know", maybe, if, etc...

  • Greg refers to "an unseen point of no return in the climate"

Is he referring to the IPCC's magic bullet theory of C02 induced positive feedback?

This fantasy has been shown not to exist -- so why even refer to it.

It astounds me how many people are so willing to believe a worst case hypotheses -- and are so unwilling to even listen to the scientific evidence/proof that clearly show it to be untrue.

People will trust science on most everything else -- except the C02 GW hypotheses - WHY?

  • Did you watch his other videos? I doubt it...

  • He doesn't even base his arguments on IPCC reports, and doesn't ever serve them as proof. You, sir, have not done your homework enough to serve such comments.

    You fail.

  • Yep the IPCC has grossly underestimated the problem.

  • The IPCC review the scientific evidence they don't do new science. Concern about man made global warming is not new.

If you don't like the IPCC work then review what the various academies of science have to say.

  • So... what's your education and background?

  • I believe he is a high school science teacher.

  • Hehe, I wasn't asking about Greg... I was asking cO2lies. He replied me on private message. He also said thtat Greg has blocked him... I wander if this is true

  • idiot. hes the one informing us.

  • State your credentials and peer-reviewed scientific articles that show the validity of your ludicrous claims. Of course, whatever science you do quote, make sure it is equal or better than the statements from (at least) the NAS and the AAAS.

    Otherwise, shut up.

  • Just testing to see if I've been un-blocked.

    Testing 1 2 3....

  • My credentials ...

I'm a rational thinking human, capable of logical thought and able to make informed decisions without being told by the media or grandstanding politicians whom I wouldn't even buy a used car from.

My credentials are not the issue here -- the scientific facts are.

  • Over 31,000 scientists here.

    petitionproject org

    Endorsed by Frederick Seitz

Past President, National Academy of Sciences and Rockefeller University.

You asked for NAS - close enough?

  • You have to note, though, that the scientists you mention are not disproving ACC. They are simply stating that taking action based upon a theory with "insufficient" support and data might is unnecessary and perhaps harmful.

I don't know if you've seen the rest of Greg's videos but he suggest pretty much the same thing just on the other side of the coin.

It is uncertain -it will always be uncertain, there is no consensus and there will never be until (if it happens) it is too late.

  • NO - you are misrepresent the facts.

    Or you were not listening.

ACC is an hypotheses that has no scientific bases. It has been disproved by many scientists Bob is just one.

Bob clearly states - ACC is at best undetectable in the normal climate noise - our signal is just not there. In other word there is no detectable effect -- or if it's there it's so small it cannot be measured.

Please listen to lecture before post anymore comments about it.

  • It is pretty much like in WWII. There was no solid consensus of science and military intelligence on whether or not Hitler was developing a nuclear weapon. However, just the risk warranted enough to take full action and thus the Manhattan project came to be.

How are things now any different?

Here, let's look at it in a completely different light. Let's say you're right, there is no threat, we should not do anything and continue business as usual... (cont.)

  • I could say exactly the same thing about Iraq. The U.S should have stayed out of Iraq -- there where no WMD's -- we all know this now. The intelligence comms knew it then -- it was an excuse for war. Since then thousands & thousands have died for this lie with no end in site.

Pre-empting is not a good idea.

You must realize -- the ramifications of this. Carbon trading schem's and taxes will be just be the beginning.

    (cont...)

  • (Cont'd)

... Last time I checked, the infrastructure of our civilization is based primarily on finite resources which will be depleted, especially when developing countries start using them as well. Then what?

Isn't it better to start looking into re-shaping our infrastructure for alternative, renewable, and much more efficient energy sources today? Then cash that in by selling it to the aforementioned nations.

From any way you want to see it, sitting back isn't a good idea.

  • (cont..)

California has just rushed in new laws taxing businesses for their carbon emissions. Rushed in because as you know once a tax has been introduced it's usually there for ever.

Yes - I agree. Our recourses are finite and sometime in the future we will change. But in the mean time there is no solid evidence to start rationing fuel or making it so expensive only the rich can use it etc...

People will die because of this and the poor will suffer the most - for what?

    (cont..)

  • (cont..)

A consensus is not science. Remember the IPCC is governed by politics not science -- this by their own admission. We cannot allow politics to interfere with the science -- but that's exactly what's happening.

To my mind it is obvious - the science shows no relationship between warming and C02.

Doing nothing is sometimes best - instead of medalling in things for no reason.

  • every self governing body, of any nature, is governed by politics. But they produce hard scientific research, and any tests that seemingly oppose these well documented findings, such as Dr. Carters', aren't nearly as conclusive to warrant a total disregard and inaction.

We know there is a problem.

We, as an intelligent, scientific community, must do something about our environment.

CO2 is one big part, stemmed from oil and coal.

    We need to do something.

    I am using less.

    What are you doing?

  • "every self governing body, of any nature, is governed by politics"

    WRONG!

This is a scientific issue --politicians have in the past ordered the killing of their own citizens. Politics and science should never be mixed EVER.

"But they produce hard scientific research"

WRONG. Politics have NEVER EVER in history produced any science. Science is usually manipulated by politicians to serve a political purpose or agenda.

    (cont...)

  • (cont...)

Dr. Carter is only 1 of thousands upon thousands of scientists doing the real science. This science is unbiased and unbound of any political interference or control.

This IPCC is bound and controlled by politics.

    "We know there is problem"

    Ok -- what's the problem?

Our climate is just fine. Historic records show nothing abnormal about our climate at all.

    (cont...)

  • "C02 is one big part -- stemmed from oil and coal"

This is the biggest myth of all. There is absolutely NO evidence for the hypotheses!

Did you know almost half of man made C02 comes from concrete and the building industry? -- I'll bet you didn't.

    (cont...)

  • So lets do the numbers so everyone knows what were talking about here.

According to the IPCC total volume C02 in the atmosphere is 3.8% of this (IPCC say) 4% is man made. Of this about half is produced by the building industry.

    So total C02 that can be attributed from oil and coal = 3.8 * .04 / 2 = 0.076%.

Not even 0.1% from oil and coal.

Now do you think that cutting C02 by 0.1% will do anything?

Do your research on the SCIENCE - not the alarmist hype.

    (cont...)

  • Give me sources on everything you just said.

I'm willing to listen to facts.

  • If you mean the numbers I gave...

Just look em up their all over the net for anyone to read.

Google - building industry carbon emissions

Check the IPCC for their stats.

  • In the interest of making sure I get the same facts and reports, got any citations? Names of reports/essays/papers? Like I said, I'm willing to listen to facts.

  • Stats are all over the net.

All are estimates as are the IPCC's.

Point is - C02 is emitted by almost every single thing we do.

    Can you think of anything that doesn't emit C02? -- I can't.

The impression given by IPCC etc... is that cars and coal are main emitters - again this is false.

Don't take my word for it - do your research and find the truth.

I urge everyone to do the same before rushing to judgment.

  • You must remember it's the IPCC who hands out policy reports to gov's -- not AAAS or NAS etc.

I cannot stress this enough - they are politically motivated and driven. They choose the science they like, discard that which they don't and lie about the data. It's on this lie that gov policies will be enacted. It could cost way more than you could ever imagine. Thats why it's so important to KNOW the facts.

People need to stop listening to alarmist hype and listen to science.

  • (1/2)

What is this hatred you have towards the IPCC? Nobody has even mentioned it. Like you, I have been talking strictly about scientific "facts".

Again, my opinions are not based on statements from the IPCC, but from AAAS, NAS, the Pentagon, RAS, etc. In other words, scientific bodies who are as credible as humanly possible.

  • (2 of 3)

I believe the AAAS and NAS etc... will as time goes on slowly change their stance on this issue just as have many many scientists. Some very prominent scientists are already questioning the entire hypotheses of C02 induced warming. This will only gain strength as there is not any real credible science to back the C02 hypotheses. Also, more and more people are starting to realize just how huge the ramification really are of this -- it's just to huge to gamble on an hypotheses.

  • (2/2)

Secondly, now that I am out of work I have taken a closer look at your silver-bullet petition and it didn't take me much to find some holes. For the sake of keeping things rather simple let's have a quick "wikilook":

In Wikipedia type in: "Oregon Petition", scroll down to "Signatories", and read that.

After reading this, I was hoping to find the petition in a hoax website, regrettably I did not. Either way, I'm certain further research into the matter will only expose more holes on it.

  • (1 of 3)

I don't know why you refer to my hatred of the IPCC. I have never said that - but

I sure don't like what they are or what they are trying to do.

U must realize that the IPCC exists for only 1 reason-- to find evidence of or relate evidence of causes of GW to C02 and report on it, that's it. Their reports are completely politically bias and not based on any real scientific evidence or fact -- their objectives are political NOT scientific.

  • (3 of 3)

Yes -- I read the wiki. Yes there are a few issues with verification etc... but that's all -- no big deal really -- you've got to expect some of this. If you think there are more holes please do your best to find them -- if there is anything sus about it should be ignored.

  • He never uses the IPPC as proof - He uses the top scientists of the world. Where are the published papers that call it all off?

What do you have invested in saying it is all a lie? The worst that will happen will be that we have cleaner healthier air and much less dependence on foreign oil - not bad hey

  • c02 lies- you'd be really good at making a fantasy novel!

  • idiot. it's real. and if you dont believe it, you're probably one of the people making it worse.

  • Oh my God!is that you? well its good to see you again. i will see what i can do to help...

  • The beard undoes the cute! :p Congrats on the book contract. I'll check out the site and see if I have anything to offer.

  • The Most Terrifying Book You'll Ever Read. :o

  • hahahha...nice beard! LOL

  • Nice to see that you've been able to calm down a bit since your last videos :) btw, I think we all figured out that this is really just a way to spread the word by getting people involved on the research. It seems to me that you would have a much easier time checking your own sources than checking other people's checking on your sources.

    Ooops.

Is the cat out of the bag?

  • Not really. What's useful is for other people to spend the time slogging through Google and distilling things down for me, and then I check out what they've got. DEFINITELY has saved me a ton of time, just in this last week. (With, for instance, tracking down contact info for Climate Heavyweights so I can ask them for feedback on my draft of Chp. 1)

  • congrats!! bro

  • haha...Gladwell status? Maybe. Go for it, buddy!

  • congrats!!! hope its a best seller! u decide a title yet?????

  • So excited to hear about this book deal! I'll try to go to the website and help.

  • Not only will I definitely buy this book but I will do some word of mouth marketing for you... so what title will I be looking for?

  • Very Good News!

    Congrats btw!

  • The hair....you lost a bet didn't u?

  • That is certainly very pleasing news that the book concept went all the way through. It was your videos that became the final catalyst in my own personal crusade to try and help humanity.

I will most definitely help you out with whatever I can.

On a personal note, I ain't feeling that facial hair man. Also, you kind of remind me of James Hetfield from Metallica.

Either way, cheers to you and let's kick some ass and take some names!

  • OMG I am SOOOOO HAPPY for you!!!! I will totally help you with whatever time I have. Go For It!!!

  • save a tree, dont make a book.stick with the video.

  • Ah! But you could argue the computer you watch the video on uses fossil fuels to create electricity it runs on! Ya, beat that, eh?!

  • yea but the next gen of devices such as the iphone will soon be self recharging. Use that like a book.

  • Bloody hell, really? Cool! However, no everyone has the money and the screen will start to hurt people's eyes after a while. Still, good idea.

  • Good luck, I'm glad there are still people as passionate as you in this world at least trying to make a difference.

I'll lend my meagre resources to help.

  • Im SO NOT gonna ask about the facial hair. I just shaved, damn that sucks. Go natural :P

Anyway im gonna help. Though im 13 yrs old ;D

  • Wow, I'm 13 and I haven't got enough facial hair to shave... Plus I hit puberty when I was about... 10-ish. No joke.

  • Gonna ask anyway: What the crap is with the facial hair?

  • Congrats dude. I sure hope your book helps.

  • I think you need comics in your book- if you've ever seen "The Cartoon Guide to Genetics" by Larry Gonick and Mark Wheelis- that's what I think of when I think of "How It All Ends" in book format. That and the "Stop Faking It" series from NSTA if you've ever had the pleasure of reading any of those.

I'm totally on board- I'll do what I can. :)

  • Good to hear. I'll take a look by after exams are over.

  • Good on ya

    I will help

    And im gonna ask

    whats with the facial hair

    haha

  • grats and keep up the good work
