A lot of french vocalists seem to relly on nasality...Edith Piaf, Celine Dion, and many french coloratura sopranos.
One trick I use to avoid nasality and get resonance is think of a happy surprise and take a breathe...with that my diaphragm is put in the "appoggio" position, the larynx is lowered a bit in a stable position, and the soft palate is raised...and I'm prepared to sing :)
How do you think of my recent singing such as the Pimps up Hoedown or Parallel Universes / The most important guy? I keep watching online tips and trying to incorporate. I feel like I got better but have plenty of room for improvement :)
Wow, I'm not a professional vocal coach, but I do teach others how to sing by doing by teaching basic warm-ups and simple tunes as well as humming, breathing and how to use their hands to help control the dynamics and timbre in their vocals.
I like watching your videos because I feel like, I can put it into better technical terms, because I try to interpret how one sounds and how to fix it by doing techniques that have worked for me.
When you did the "Ga", I've always taught my "Ah's as Uh's"
why would you even want to learn people nasal singing.. it's awful
