if obama were really thinking big, he would have presented a stimulus that offered grants for homeowners to install photovoltaic roofing, as well as grants for individuals to buy a hybrid, electric or fuel cell vehicle, or to build hydrogen fuel stations. it would have built new domestic industries, placated the greens, and preserved oil for our national defense. instead, he wasted it on old-fashioned pork. not only isn't he new, he is retro in the worst way. what a fool he made of the US!
republicans are far from perfect, but at least tax cuts have stimulated the economy in the past. don't forget that obama was promising a huge tax cut, too, until he actually got elected. then he wanted to be like fdr, and missed a huge opportunity to use the stimulus to make renewable energy a reality through grants for photovoltaic roofing and fuel cell cars. a true progressive and environmentalist would be disappointed with his failure. obama is retro old-school socialist, not progressive.

This stimulus is an ominous sign that Obambi will be a 1 TERM EPIC FAIL and will lose to Sarah Palin in 2012. This country does not need a stimulus and more government spending to help the global economy. No, the world needs Palinomics. Palinomics will save the world economy, greater than Reaganomics and Clintonomics. Palinomics is blessed with the divine power of GOD HERSELF for Palin is GOD's CHOSEN ONE, GOD INCARNATE and the LIVING EMBODIMENT OF GOD HERSELF!
Having been in sales for a long time all this is, is high pressure sales tactics. If you don't pass this now, it won't be hear tomorrow.. Obama said when has a bill of this size not ever had pork attached to it. Ok, so you are not for change then Mr. President? Because if you were then you would forgo the pork and streamline your package without butterfly farms. Suspend cap gain taxes for 3 years, cut corporate income tax from 35 to 12% then get the hell out of the way.butterfly farms, sure
Become a democrat you don't have to pay taxes and you kill babies Mexico & Africa thru abortion or be a republican kill Iraqis Choice ? Fair & Balanced
I agree, at least if they have to spend, give it to the people. Presently the ones in debt would pay down the debt and ones without may spend and thus boost consumption.
i may not like Ron Paul when it comes to us foreign policy but got damn he is right when it comes to this got damn Obama Stimulus Plans who's going to pay for this shit?
need new jobs as well keep factorys & chains running if we give to the small buisnesses what will they do with it buy tissues for there eyes when they need money again becuase the teddy bear store has tons of bears no one is buying them so why hire new person duh & I hate the example make over in dc how will that produce jobs well its new jobs i am sure contractors out of work would love to do duh! so package should create new jobs so we can buy those teddys. repubs lost for reason dumb
The one thing i dont understand is, how the fuck can economics be partisan?? There is only one way to economically stabilize, through sound currency and through having the market reflect the resources availible to us. Economics is not the study of money, like everyone talks about. Economics is the ALLOCATION of resources. Money supply and dollar value is simply a reflection of that fact. How can anyone defend printing more money and inflating its value as sound economic policy to stimulate?? lol
this exactly what i was wondering as well. nicely put.
i think people defend/don't care about printing more money because they don't see the consequences of all this debt. and how can they, this is going to affect generations of people to come. if it isn't directly affecting people now, it simply doesnt matter to them.
Ron Paul was deliberately cut short by the announcer on every reply. I voted for Ron Paul in 1988 and his acute understanding of economics is unrivalled on the Hill. This is an orchestrated financial collapse. Please see the Gramm-Leach-Biley Act passed by Clinton in 1999 which set the stage for our current crisis...also do a search with the terms Bush Negroponte business week 2006 and read the article that comes up and you can begin to see the Rep/Dem caball that is enslaving us.
well he didnt cut him short to silence him, he just always does that because of timing. thats just his style. but yea, interviewers, especially on other networks, usually cut him off or belittle him as if they even understand what RP is talking about. i guess Rp is too smart for his own good
If these conservative "deficit hawks" had a concern, maybe they should have expressed it eight years ago, when George W. Bush and the Republicans (and Democrats) in Congress gave Bush his wars, his budgets, and his utter and completely irresponsible foolishness in every respect as regards American governance, traditions, laws and values. All of a sudden, these people have found their voices. Too late - NO CREDIBILITY ANYMORE. I have been unemployed and underemployed for six years now.
Ron Paul has been saying these things for 30 yrs, regardless of who's in power. See his book, A Foreign Policy of Freedom, which is basically just a transcript of his 30 yrs in office. Paul foretold all of this. Remember, most of the Republican party (Paul being the lonely exception) is just as statist as the Dems. We need more educated voters.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I paid a lot of attention to Ron Paul & Company when he came here to New Hampshire to campaign. Yes, I was impressed. Then, like Mitt Romney, he took up the cudgel in favor of bashing immigrants and immigration and so-called "illegals" to trash Hispanics and curry favor with hard core Nativist and Radio Talk Show listeners - who in my view, have never read a good book in their entire lives. Like the Texan, "All hat and no cattle" these so-called Americans. I dismiss them, and him. Just a Texan.
Come on guys I see a lot of Obama hating on here and rightfully so but just remember what we were 'given' for choices. The repulican values were not available for vote this year this shit was all fixed. Why do you think they pushed McCain? Corporate America wanted a liberal in the office. I dont like Obama or McCain but until we fix this voting system we are all fucked some that voted for Obama just may enjoy his fancy talk while they are getting fucked.
the ignorant and uneducated elected a "man with a megaphone" for president! whenever i see this poor sap, I see a deer caught in the headlights. He hasn't a CLUE what to do now!
Invest in vaseline, cause this country is gonna get fucked up the ass starting jan 20.
are you kidding me? wow! you republicans really don't get it. I mean, I'm sure you voted for Bush in both elections and look at where we are now. You are 0 for 2 buddy and that republican neo-conservative ideology isn't getting us anywhere. Well it is getting us down the drain literally.
just so you know...congress taxes and spends. the only influence a president has on the economy are his ideas. Who's run Congress for most of the last, oh...60 years or so? Ignorant, uneducated elected democrats.
That's par for the course erikvdln. Anytime there was some kind of FUCK UP it was always agianst Dr.Paul. From Paul's electorial votes not being announced at the GOP convention, being left out of a Fox debate after he won a mojority of THEIR after debate polls, to "audio snafus". Through it all he's held his head high and hasn't waivered.
Then the GOP nominates those dumb bastards McCain and Palin....clueless fuckers.
If hard hitting reporter Katie Couric can stump you you're dumb!
Obama will only increase the deficit while providing low intelligence jobs for the workers to build roads and more government crap, that'll be fought tooth and nail by the environmentalistas. In essence, not much will get done and this recession will turn into a depression when it fails. More Government is not the answer to solve anything, only to muck it up worse than before. Put your $ in foriegn currency, foreign stocks and bonds, if you have any left before Obama blows it.
~~Zile77~~~YOU WIN!!~~YouTubes BEST post of the day!~~Obama JUST signed a hate FULL page letter in The Seattle Times (Jan 12th)~~and it denegrated Israel~~Our Friend~~~and supported the evil terrorists~~ Hamas!!!~~~and it is signed~~~President-Elect Barack Obama~~~~~~welcome to the party USA~~~there goes the contry!!!!~~~better STOCK UP!!!~~on bomb shelters and canned goods!~~~cause Bombaaa~~~is gonna COST US!~~
Ron Paul should tell his lost party (what's left of it) to shove it (!) & go independent - to GROW a movement which DOES have broad support BUT would (eventually) have MUCH MORE without that TOXIC "R" label. Not only that, but the VAST MAJORITY of Republicans (at LEAST 80% - 90% of them) will simply NEVER get it!
You SAW the Republican "debates"! Other than Ron Paul, these clowns (& 90% of the live audience) were stunningly CLUELESS (!), especially on FOREIGN POLICY & the INCOME TAX.
If & when Obama begins to talk about SCRAPPING the current income tax code COMPLETELY & starting over, we'll know he is for REAL (change).
Everyone (Democrat, Republican, independent, liberal, conservative, moderate, libertarian) knows that the current income tax code is utter NONSENSE & tied to literally EVERYTHING.
Everything!
It's time for the FairTax or better yet - Ron Paul's tax plan. Nothing's perfect, but I believe this would be the best LONG term approach to fixing our country.
if bread goes to $23.00 a loaf, can I print some money also and bail me out? OR this saving the world thing dont seem to be helping the taxpayers now does it?
oBAMA IS A PUPPET. hE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING. HE CAN'T EVEN TALK WITHOUT A TELEPROMTER. HE IS A COMMUNISTS. SO IS HILLIARY CLINTON. WHY DO YOU THINK HIS CABINET IS ALL CLINTON RECYCLES? THEY ARE OUT TO DESTROY THIS COUNTRY. oBAMA IS AN ILLEGAL ALIAN, A USURPER. THIS IS A CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS, ANY TREATY HE SIGNS WILL BE ILLEGAL PUTTING OUR COUNTRY IN GREATEST OF DANGERS!
The most damaging thing the government does is participate in the economy. They participate by empowering a private banking cartel to fix the price of credit, they took on mortgage risk through Freddy and Fannie and they act as an insurance company via FDIC.
All these things need to be abolished, for starters.
Let's see, after the media has convinced America of the 'great success' of this abomination of spending our money, we'll all be told how we must 'sacrifice' and pay for his great 'achievement.'
just like fox didn't talk about who was going to pay for the iraq and afghan wars and bush stimulus plans, fox all of a sudden you are asking serious questions...wow what a suprise
Hey richardgwm, you need to do a lil bit of research. What caused the banking problems was the fact that the government forced them to make loans to people who had no realistic way of paying them back. Bill Clinton passed this. Oh, and Ron Paul is one of the most intelligent men in our government right now, READ UP.
I worked hard for Dr. Paul's campaign. If nothing else he woke millions of people up, around the world. He is the greatest man in generations. These next four years will be hell. Hurry up 2012!
Ever thought about the date 12/21/2012 and the possibility that certain people in power know that a massive event will take place on that day? Hurry to 2012 means the end of what we know. We may have been set up around 1971 when the power makers finally understood that 12/21/2012 is real. I might wrong.
sucked in u dickheads yous want everything in life now yous are going to suffer thanks to ur own country and ur best friends the world bank owned by isreal and englishman
You are absolutely correct.Americans hate freedom because it requires responsibility.Americans want the benefits of freedom but don't want the risk.Americans have become dumbed down to the point that socialism is more appealing than liberty and free enterprise. The bankster gangters caused this mess, yet the dumb American public is relying on these same people to fix it.The markets need to get purged and the government needs to stay out of it.This intervention is just making the hole deeper.
why did they put this rat bastard Neo-con Dick Armey on there to pretend like the GOP establishment is anywhere near the intellectual and moral purity of Ron Paul?
I wish Democrats would open up their eyes to this. Whats scary is he's been right all along and no one in the government seems to care or listen to him.
They have the best business discussions on television news. Look up any Peter Schiff or Ron Paul discussion on Fox vs them on any other news org like MSN and see for yourself. Neil makes it all possible.
I had to write him in in Nov, I felt like my conscience wouldn't be clean otherwise. Hearing him made me realize how full of crap the other candidates are, including President "change"
and again. who could of thunk? Ron Paul!

if obama were really thinking big, he would have presented a stimulus that offered grants for homeowners to install photovoltaic roofing, as well as grants for individuals to buy a hybrid, electric or fuel cell vehicle, or to build hydrogen fuel stations. it would have built new domestic industries, placated the greens, and preserved oil for our national defense. instead, he wasted it on old-fashioned pork. not only isn't he new, he is retro in the worst way. what a fool he made of the US!

republicans are far from perfect, but at least tax cuts have stimulated the economy in the past. don't forget that obama was promising a huge tax cut, too, until he actually got elected. then he wanted to be like fdr, and missed a huge opportunity to use the stimulus to make renewable energy a reality through grants for photovoltaic roofing and fuel cell cars. a true progressive and environmentalist would be disappointed with his failure. obama is retro old-school socialist, not progressive.

I agree, at least if they have to spend, give it to the people. Presently the ones in debt would pay down the debt and ones without may spend and thus boost consumption.

How can anyone defend printing more money and inflating its value as sound economic policy to stimulate?? lol
jaaje29 3 years ago
this exactly what i was wondering as well. nicely put.
i think people defend/don't care about printing more money because they don't see the consequences of all this debt. and how can they, this is going to affect generations of people to come. if it isn't directly affecting people now, it simply doesnt matter to them.
therockyfan316 3 years ago
Ron Paul was deliberately cut short by the announcer on every reply. I voted for Ron Paul in 1988 and his acute understanding of economics is unrivalled on the Hill. This is an orchestrated financial collapse. Please see the Gramm-Leach-Biley Act passed by Clinton in 1999 which set the stage for our current crisis...also do a search with the terms Bush Negroponte business week 2006 and read the article that comes up and you can begin to see the Rep/Dem caball that is enslaving us.

I have been unemployed and underemployed for six years now.
mdelcamp1 3 years ago
Ron Paul has been saying these things for 30 yrs, regardless of who's in power. See his book, A Foreign Policy of Freedom, which is basically just a transcript of his 30 yrs in office. Paul foretold all of this. Remember, most of the Republican party (Paul being the lonely exception) is just as statist as the Dems. We need more educated voters.

The most damaging thing the government does is participate in the economy. They participate by empowering a private banking cartel to fix the price of credit, they took on mortgage risk through Freddy and Fannie and they act as an insurance company via FDIC.
All these things need to be abolished, for starters.

Hey richardgwm, you need to do a lil bit of research.
