Since the first time I listened to it, I found something maddeningly enchanting in it--something that even the gorgeous melody and voice seemed insufficient to explain. You've helped me define it. Though the words are tender, there's a fierce protectiveness and even an aggressiveness in them--a desperate, *male* kind of yearning. To hear such an emotion expressed by a woman is rare and heartbreaking.

The song is about a survivor of the Battle of Culloden, the final battle between the Jacobites and the British Government. Dick Gaughan sings it on Folk Friends 2 as "Lassie Lie Near Me". Connie puts a lovely spin on it by making the song come from a female's point of view. I thought I saw a photo of the Giant's Causeway which is in Northern Ireland.

Well, the song hold a deep meaning for me, the lyrics I included in the video were just very prominent for me. The photos came mostly from free wallpaper sites and duty free web pages. I've not been to Ireland but it's always been a dream of mine to settle there. Thanks again Shan, your comments really do mean so much to me.
