But asians do do it to have their eyes look non-asian. It is possible to have double lid surgery and come out still looking asian. most people go the whole 9 yards and request that the surgeon make their eyes wider. It's like doing a septoplasty (which is necessary) and opt for the rhinoplasty for the cosmetic reasons.

i hate how so many people think that asians are doing this because the "western look" is more desirable. that's not the reason. a number of asians are born with double lids, therefore double lid isn't a "nonasian" feature. it's just something that not everyone has. it's not like you'll see an asian girl after the surgery and be all like, "is she asian? i can't tell because her eyes aren't tiny." NO. just no. they'll just look like an asian with double lids.

uh 50% of asians, like my mother & i, are BORN with double eyelids. So that's like saying people getting this surgery are trying to look like asian. They're not trying to look "white." Pretty sure indians and africans have this crease, too. Next time a "white" person tries to go tanning to get their skin darker, i'll just accuse them of wanting to be african. Kinda ignorant, no? Next time someone dyes their hair black, i'll accuse them of trying to look asian. Hope u get the point.

I'm japanese.i understand why asian want to get double eyelid!!not want to be white!!Just many japanese think single eyelid isn't cute and it looks puffy eyes!!and we dont know why we just think double eyelid and sharp nose is nice!! No matter about race!! :)

Dating all the back to china ancient times women with big eyes were consider beautiful. And Chinese beauties with double fold eyes existed as a role model for the rest. Research the traditional oriental views of Asian beauty. Those minority Asians regarded beautiful retained the big eyes/ small nose/ small lips. Like the legendary four beauties of ancient china. In terms of genetics these traits are pass down to modern Asians. As they are quite a number of Asians have such features.

First of all, some Asian have natural double eyelids. So does that means they are Caucasian too? No, they are just Asian. There are different kinds of eyelids on Asians. On the other hand, the girl in the video eyes looks natural even if she had double eyelids surgery. I hate it when people are so judgmental and disrespectful toward Asian who have double eyelids surgery. Asians are not the only people who have double eyes surgery.

I find it absurd that people accuse asians of trying to be "white" when getting the surgery. First of all, many asians like my mother and I NATURALLY are BORN with double eyelids. SECOND of all, who says WHITES are the only ones with double eyelids? Pretty sure all the other races like indians and blacks have them as well.
