One trick is to get a piece of PVC pipe about a foot long and when she trys to bite you, use the PVC pipe to make her step up. She will realize quickly that she cant hurt the pipe. Another thing is never ever show the bird that you are afraid at all, they need to know that you are the boss!
Cherry is 21 years old. I actually got her from a friends mother that that was moving. She was never allowed out of her cage and was not played with ever. I worked with her every day for a long time before she became nice and loving like she is now.
How old is your bird? We have a military macaw and he's 7. But he's slightly aggressive cause he was psychologically abused before we got him so were teaching him to be nice. :)
