Hi! can you please check a demo that i did? i found a weird register that is freaking me out cause is on the same zone where my high head it supposed to be! and i dont think that that is head voice (is like a very low whistle, around C5-F5), here is the video: /watch?v=Ao-a65mv88g
All exercise I am doing very good . But when singing I am out of breath . can you please help me . Thank you for sharing ur videos , they are all lovely and helpfull .
I need to ask a question cause I'm very worried. How do I relax my larynx. It just moves up and down naturally and I know that this hinders my higher and lower registers. Please help.
i have noticed that in my voice, how warm it is determines which range i can do. The warmer my voice is, my higher range comes in and i lose lower range. when my voice is cold, such as when i first wake up, i can go much deeper than later on as my voice warms up. Between the two ranges, I have slightly over a 3 octave range. I do not use a falsetto voice at any time because I don't like the way it sounds for those who do use it. How can I warm up my voice to higher notes earlier than I do now?
@AtariMaxiToriyama you need to re-read my comment. I plainly state there that " I do not use a falsetto voice at any time because I don't like the way it sounds fro those who do use it."
@PaulW98Z That's odd. I distinctly remember reading your comment, including where you said that you don't use falsetto, but I don't know WHY I commented in the way that I did. Oh, well. I'll delete that comment because it's pointless, now.
hey, all your lessons are just great, i guess so =D. Could you do another video or just say how to make my voice stronger???:) i do every day those 4 parts warm up and vibrato video's exercises... and one very good breathing exercise(not your video)...Should i do any other exercise to get my voice stronger? :)
@ic3h0lic Have you tried placing your thumb and finger on the bridge of your nose? If you can feel the vibration all is good. If not, try doing exercises on an "NG" as in "si-ng". That sound is great for getting resonance right.
I have heard that you don't want to feel vibration/air coming through your nose. Is this true? Is there any time in the voice (chest/mix./head) when it is acceptable to have some air coming through the nasal passage?
I hear that some air will come through, but it should be minuscule. Otherwise you get a nasality sound. Please correct me if I am wrong.
@melyeshi An "over active" larynx is basically a bad habit. One that you may not have even been aware of for most of your "singing life". Like any habit it will take some time to break it. If you consciously work at keeping it relaxed every day for a least a month it should start to become automatic. Use a mirror to monitor yourself or place a couple of fingers gently on your larynx to check foe movement. Goodluck!
@melyeshi A little bit of movement isn't too concerning. As long as it isn't a violent movement upwards it shouldn't cause you too many problems. Actually forcing it down isn't something I recommend as it will cause tension. It is best to be free of tension with some slight larynx movement than forcing it down.
That's a question I get asked a lot. Singing uses the same muscles and tissue as speaking so in that respect yes anyone can learn to sing. Developing pitch recognition is a little harder as this can be linked to how exposed to music a person has been throughout their life. This can also be taught but can take a bit of time. I believe with patience anyone can learn to sing at a reasonable level.
thanks for the tutorial! I really want to learn how to sing and breath properly, becasuse I have a big register, and can make people love me singing, but I have 0 technique and experience....
When you say "playing with your voice" do you mean things like riffs and runs? If that is the case I will be uploading a video that will teach you how to gain more flexibility with your voice in the next 2 weeks.
this warm up is the best on youtube, my voice is so free after. thx
