You've got to give it to the Beatles. Before the sixties people were listening to Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin. As much as I like those guys, their career was more or less fabricated. The Beatles had a matinee idol image as well, except they wrote their own songs, played their own instruments, and created highly resonant music that stands up well today. You kill two birds with one stone, they had it all.

even though the beatles were just one of a handful of EQUALLY talented and perhaps overshadowed and underrated british bands of the time, something about them(the beatles) and what they happened to start and accomplish makes them so special to me and obviously many other people that when i watch tributes like this, i cant love any other band more and i get so emotional, the beatles and their music just make me happy to be alive!
