Dawn of War 2 is actually so much better when compared with the first one. The game play graphics are absolutely awesome, as well as the new marines are awesome! I believe US launched the first nukes.

US had a plan of creating an ark far out into the sea, where their government and army would survive. This enclave would later come to be called the Enclave, the main antagonists in the Fallout 3 serie.

While the world was destroyed in a nuclear battle, the US government and their lot sat safely on an oil rig far out into the ocean.

Not really, there was a war between China and US indeed.

But both armies were still strong, the course of the war was uncertain, and the fact that they all have nukes must've made it even more unstable.

Perhaps the American leaders feared that they couldn't win this war, or in the worst case; lose, and so they decided to act first?

The U.S. did not only manage to retake Anchorage, but also to push the Chinese all the way back, eventually cutting a path through China itself. The Chinese panicked and pushed the button.
