  • U gave very clear insta thks

  • This was way too fast. When you're turning the work around 2:17, I can't tell which is the "stitch below" that you talk about.

  • @becscool You are welcome! :)

  • @becscool I like to increase by working Double Crochet, CH 3, Double Crochet, CH 3, Double Crochet in the same stitch. The next row or round I will work a full V stitch in both of the chain 3 spaces.

  • Great video, like that you provide variations, thanks!

  • Thank you so much!

  • @chrisjdd You are welcome.

  • When I try to do this stitch, the holes all get smaller each row, the rows get longer, and it curls up into a circle. what am I doing wrong? I cant figure it out =/ thanks

  • Thank you for making this so clear. I usually knit and I find knitting instructions much easier but you made this so simple and clear. Thank you.

  • You go WAY too fast.

  • I am so thankful for your video. I just don't understand patterns, you made this so simple and easy. Thank you so much for posting this!!!

  • @2DeltaDisaster16 You are welcome!

  • Thank you so much for this video the pattern i am using calls for using this stitch as a gauge. This video is very helpful.

  • I love your video. Since getting your instructions for the V-Stitch Summer Hat, that is my favorite stitch. I have made a dozen or more hat/scarf sets using this stitch - I just love it. I plan to make more in 2011 with this stitch. Thanks for putting this video on You Tube to share. I just love your work!

  • @FIGGYWOMAN You have been busy making a lot of projects!

  • Awesome video; thanks so much for taking the time to share this stitch with everyone!

  • @hljourney The Crochet V-Stitch is a great stitch! I appreciate the comment.

  • Hey!i jus wanted to thank u soo much for ur videos because they have helped me awhole lot! I also have 1 question if u dont mind answering:so i'm doing the v stich right now and im half way through it,but as i spread it out and looked at it,it was kinda curvy, like i dont know maybe i missed to crotchet some thing? so i jus wanna know how can i make it look pretty or at lest presentable and for the curveyness of the blanket not to show?is there a way instd of takin it aprt and strtin all ovr agn?

  • @puckass666 What do you mean curvy? Is it getting larger or smaller as you work the blanket?

  • @tjw1963 smaller... i think i missed to crochet some...

  • @puckass666 I suggest that you keep count of your stitches. Counting will keep your row and stitches accurate so you do not end up with a curvy blanket.

  • Thanks T, i couldn't get this stitch from a written pattern it kept curving, then i remembered of course you could show me. That's too bad that tayrox575 didn't realize she could pause and rewinde the video it was very entertaing to read. hope she finally got it.

  • I appreciate the comment, thank you. I do understand the importance of slow video. Unfortunately when this video was made, I did not have software to support slow motion. I hope she got it too.

  • Thank you so much for your great videos it's really helping me to start. However, i cannot understand the Scallop Lace and all i find are edges.... how about a full square!!! someone please help! Anyway, thank you again.

  • First off I would like to thank you for sharing all your knowledge you are a fantastic teacher!!! I was looking around online for different stitches and I found a Y stitch, I really like the way it looks and was gonna try and make a hat with it but I can't seem to find anywhere that shows or tells how to do this stitch. So I was just wondering if you have a video up on how to do it that I'm not finding??? Well thanks again you have helped me so much with my crocheting =^)

  • Hi tj, I worked the baby dress with the v-stitch and it is as pretiest as the ones worked with the solomon`s stitch. Regards

  • Hi tj, I will use this v-stitch in my next baby dress. Once more thank you for your tutorial videos. Greetings

  • hey, uhh yeah is there any way you could not crochet at full speed . i am a begginer and I can't keep up. :(

  • The video players have pause and reverse. It is not necessary for you to keep up with the video.

  • I know but I can't see what your'e doing?

    IT is WAY To fast.

  • I have sent you an alternative video showing the V-Stitch

  • Thanks sooo much! :D

  • Thanks for this video! I found a pretty Lace

work Shawl in this Prayer Shawl Ministry 2

book and didn't know how to work a V-stitch

and I'm using Homespun yarn which a dark

silver color with olive. Thanks a bunch!

    methodistgirl

  • You are welcome. :)

  • ok i have the basic know how down but i was on my 2nd row and it is starting to look more like a crown that strait up and down. please send me eather a video responce or a message to help me. thanks!

  • What do you mean crown?

  • If she means what I think she means, I have the same problem. Once my first row is completed, my blanket curves on the bottom. Like there is increases being done or something.

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU

I have a pattern I'm working that called for this stitch.

Its basically only a chain three after a DC and DC with your chain....skip3 and repeat. EASY!!!!!

  • Can you V Stitch a hat?

  • It is on my list of future projects.

  • Hello! thanks for the post, love this stiches I have been wanting to branch out to learn more specialty stitches. So could this stitch be used for say a hat for summer??

  • Yes, you can make a hat out of this stitch.

  • would u be able to use a treble crochet in place of the double crochet with this stitch?

  • Yes, you can use the triple crochet instead of the double.

  • Thank you SO MUCH for your excellence series. I have bought multiple books and have tons of yarn and half-finished projects. Maybe now I can actually finish something!

    Cindy

  • You are welcome. :)

  • I think this would make a lovely Shawl...do you think it would be better to start with the whole length and then diminish to make it drop down in a V shape (the whole shawl, not a stitch) or would it be better to start with one stitch then increase at each end of the line until you have the size you want? I am an inveterate experimenter!

  • I would start small and the go larger. Less time will be invested on the small end if you need to rip. With going large, you can keep going large or larger. You will be limited by started large and going small.

  • I always use your tutorials now. My mother in law always gives me tips and instructions over the phone. Then I get off the phone with her and actually WATCH you do it and then it makes sense lol.

I have the V-stitch on a washcloth pattern and this was really helpful, thank you! Thanks to you I can now do the puff stitch, v-stitch, popcorn stitch and change colors easier than before. Oh, and not to mention increases and the fab "magic circle". Thanks for doing this..it's appreciated.

  • You are welcome. :)

  • I love this pattern and am trying to make a beanie out of it, but I can't figure out how to do the increase rounds on it. Help! :)

    Rachel

  • You put two stitches in the same stitch where you want to increase. That may be every stitch, every other stitch or every couple of stitches.

  • I'm not very good at reading patterns but I can watch and pick up very quickly. Is there anyway you could demonstrate how to end this pattern? I love it but I'm worried I will have many unfinished baby blankets. Thanks.

  • I have a couple of edging demonstrations.

  • Easy to do, but I'm curious as to how you crochet with the way you hold your hook. It's different, and it intrigues me

  • When I was first learning to crochet(25+years ago), I tried holding my hook the same as the picture demonstrations. I didn't like it so I guess I created my own technique. I could never hold my thread way out across my finger. The images are still demonstrated that way.

  • I really love this pattern. It turns out very pretty. =] thanx for posting!

  • WAY TOO CONFUSING!

  • Ah! Too fast!

  • The idea I have behind the video is that the individuals have an understanding of the basic crochet stitches. It will also help to have a copy of the V-Stitch pattern in front of you. The V-stitch is just made of double crochets and chain threes.
