  • Oh gawd -.- whyyy didn't we join the Americans in their revolution. fuck the queens gov general

  • @LasagnaIsGood

Having a Queen might be kind of gay, but trust me your government seems to work a hell of a lot better than ours.

  • @trilobright yes and that's why your country is the center of the world in innovation, art, technology, business etc... . Trade you my canadian citizenship for your american

  • @LasagnaIsGood

Deal, I'll meet you at the Maine-Nova Scotia ferry terminal.

  • Laws are essentially made by the super rich for the super rich. And in Canada power is concentrated in the PMO. Or the Prime Minister's Office. MPs are essentially powerless. It's a great system -- ha ha ha!

  • lol

  • @fireball9ful who are you?

  • how did you know???

  • hey answer me!!!

  • @ZOMBIEKILLAH500 I bet you're another one of those fags with no life trying to get attention.

  • amvid homo

  • @ZOMBIEKILLAH500 what do u mean?

  • @ammvid ur a homo

  • ballsack

  • Canadas Goverments Fund Discrimination.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

    The MINORITIES & OLDER WORKERS In The IATSE 891 Union /Hiring Hall DO NOT HAVE TO BE HIRED Under Canadian Goverment TAX CREDITS ;

Funding For USA FILMS from the Canadian DEPARTMENT Of Commerce.

Its kinda like The ANTI-JEW-POLICY under Hitlers Goverments but broader.

In CANADA : All Minorities with Union seniority Do Not Have to be Hired !

it doesnt just discriminate against the Jews ,Its BIGGER

  • I understand what the Governer General does, but why do we need one? They are not elected by the people. Why again do we need someone to represent the Queen? This is not a monarchy.

  • @zwwalker Actually, Canada is a monarchy. A constitutional one. Would you rather have politicized president?

  • Question Mark.

  • thats not the queen stupid

  • the queen is aisian?

  • 1:00 Don't Trip

  • As Samuel Adams would say: "GOD DAMN THE QUEEN!"

However, it was "King" in his instance.

  • dear = day

  • altho your invisible warriors are looking down at civilization, I garrentee you the dear where they will look up and see what age we are walking into. If you believe in whats in space that is. curiousity has it's price government and I know that from experience. how else would I have figured that out. You can't win every war expecially the one im predicting about.

  • Dear Canadian Gvernment, I bring you my knowledge of the secret of hi-techology ( I ask for the order too kill me with your invisible warriors) You know what too do.

  • one of the most disorganized senates

  • The Governor General is in no way the Head of State -- that is reserved only for Her Majesty the Queen of Canada.

  • @B21983 I wouldn't say "in no way". Consider that the constitution describes the Governor General as Canada's Chief Executive Officer. Mentions of the Queen in the constitution referred legally to the authority of the Imperial Cabinet to overrule the Canadian Government, which no longer exists. The Governor General performs all the duties of a Head of State.

This is more a matter of interpretation than absolutes, and both perspectives have been historically adopted by the Canadian Government.

  • Canada should feel ashame for having someone who lives in the UK as their most powerful NON-democratically elected leader. That's not democracy.

  • @MrlynMac Its respecting historical ties to the UK. Her role is a symbolic one and she has as much power in the political sphere in the UK as she does in Canada- which isn't very much.

  • @Xgirlfriend13 It's a joke. Put her in the history books with the rest of Canada's past. She does not belong in present system, symbol or otherwise.

  • Strange how most Canadians seem indifferent to the Canadian Crown, I personaly am very pro Monarchy, poster "ocean3da" below represents a minority here in Britain, republicanism has very little support, what Canadians do in the future is obviously for them to decide, but I happen to believe a president would be bland and just like everywhere else.

Its a good system and works well, our head of state is not a politician, the Queen is above politics, if it aint broke dont mend it.

  • On thing it does not mention is that the senate only has delay power it can't reject a bill passed by the commons

  • wtf? this is sum ol bulshitt ;) how can this possibly be useful to our society? we dont giv a fuck abt canada. god

  • Canada would freak if they tried to get rid of the Queen :)

Long live the Queen of Canada!

  • Long live the Queen

  • From just watching this, I think what is certainly needed is a change of head of state. An elected president similar to what the irish have would suite better. For those Canadians that want that, I do sympathize with them. I'm a British citizen and I want that same system here in Britain. For Britain to be a republic, or if ever independent states can ever emerge, all those common wealth nations will need to brake away.

  • @ocean3da The majority of Canadians want an elected head of state. 1/4 of Canadians support the monarchy and know Queen Liz is the head of state.

10 percent are indifferent, and like 65 percent support the elected head of state.

  • @MrlynMac

So have you written half a page of A4 to your MP arguing the issue? I can't see if happen unless anyone that cares writes to any MP. I am lucky in my area in England, my MP does support a written constitution and having an elected president.

Statistics isn't what matters, its the actions of us all where ever we are to try and make change possible.

If you haven't contacted your MP, try and give it ago, what do you have to lose.

  • This little Asian women is the GENERAL and dictater over CANADAS Elected members of Goverment ... and Thats what makes CANADA even more less undemocratic than CHINA.

That and the fact the Leader of the Party is not the peoples elected leader.

CANADA and CHINA have the same kind of Political System.

    with Party Leaders

  • Royal asscent from a foriegn Queens office does not legaly imply that Canada has its own democracy !or Goverment system.

it implies that the Canadian Goverment is a puppet Defacto of a foriegn power.

kinda like a labour factory in mexico owned by a british company and not the mexican workers.

  • @audubon2006 lol you gotta be kidding me

  • Per Capita Colonialism by any other name!

  • This ambient music makes my blood boil.

  • Correction: Canada's ONLY Head of State is the Queen. The Govenor General is merely the Queen's representative and this most certainly does not make her our head of state!!

  • The canadian government sucks shit. High taxes, less and less freedom everyday.....huge government. Climate change and special interest groups need to be eliminated. Schools, roads, and health care, the military should be the ONLY place for tax dollars. The tax rate could be much less, and all the bums bleeding the system would be destroyed. Better for everyone!

  • Ah, so you're the expert now?

  • excellent point... Let's introduce the swastika as a national symbol! And maybe burn a few crosses while were at it! Yeehaw!

  • You enjoy the government running all you do? You like mindless taxation? You're a fucking useless cocksucker. Go tounge some liberal anus. People who like goverment control are useless drones with no sense of personal responsibility, or liberty.

  • Or...maybe you're an ass-ramming fag...who supports all the leeches and special interest losers that whine for money cause theyre too stupid to do something useful? What the fuck is with the swastika comment? You're stupider than my nutty steamy shit. Go blow cum bubbles with your nigger manslave...fag.

  • @chevymaxman it comes as no surprise that a conservative like you would spew racist vitriol/ You people are so full of hate, you are the only reason there are still murders and pain on this earth. Unfortunately you think the only way to solve things is to hate more. You are no different that bin Laden.

  • @ugboy1 I don't hate anyone. Tyranny (liberalism), is the only thing i don't like. Tax from the rich....give to the poor. The rich are successful....the poor are lazy bums. Why take away incentive to do better at life, by overtaxing more productive citizens? Everyone is given an equal chance to succeed in the country...it just requires effort. More government is not good for anyone. Get a clue dipshit.

  • God Save Our Gracious Queen!

  • queen who????

  • As this video is a production of the Canadian Senate's Communication Directorate I am shocked that it incorrectly refers to the Gov Gen as Head of State. There is only one Head of State in Canada at the Federal and Provincial levels - and that is Her Majesty the Queen of Canada. I suggest that this video be fixed - unless the Liberal Government is planning on changing our Head of State without consulting Canadians first!

  • GOD BLESS OUR QUEEN!!!

  • Long live Her Majesty the Queen of Canada!

  • @Knowzilla13 Hear Hear

  • @Knowzilla13 You should feel shame. Canada is not a democracy.

  • Do bear in mind that elected officials are beholden entirely to an electorate. This means their only concern is being re-elected, even if the electorate is wrong. There are advantages to having an appointed house.

  • @UlrichBechir The electorate is NEVER wrong. It's called "democracy." The people decide everything.

  • @amrite trust be the electorate can be wrong look at america elected bush twice,

the electorate does not have all the facts try explaining to the average voter why its wrong to print money

  • @amrite That's the same thing as saying: "the client is never wrong". Germans were also wrong when they elected Hitler to power. ;)

  • And we notice the Separation of Powers. The Judicial Branch has no power to draft bills. However, in 1998, the so-called Supreme Court of Canada drafted a bill which became the Clarity Act, designed to destroy Canada. Sections 17 and 91 of the Constitution Act, 1867 "prescribe" the components of the lawmaking function, and they don't include the so-called Supreme Court. The Clarity Act is an illegal judicial statute which destroys Parliament by enabling multiple secessions. It's TREASON.

  • Hereditary Head of State.

Unelected Senate. 105 members all appointed with no input by the people. Also a senate where small provinces are over-represented and big provinces under-represented. For instance British Columbia pop. 4 mil has 6 Senators and Nova Scotia pop. under 1 mil gets 10 Senators. Fair? Hell no. At least be equal!

Reform is seriously needed. Maybe on the American or Australian model. An elected Senate where provinces are equally represented in a federalist structure.
