  • i love the music!!!!

  • has anyone got this for the ipod, im stuck over there at 2:05

  • swimming is not advised : P

  • i always got scared of the catterpiller because it jumped at me and caught me by surprise

  • At 0:37 that bubble fish is also seen in Rayman Revolution but only in the Fairy Glade.

  • When u say you haave to go back later for the other cage? Which bit does it take u back or which level?

  • As I have explained this before, the stage "The Echoing Caves" offers you a chance to briefly teleport to a hidden area in The Fairy Glade where this cage can be found.

  • Dude, you say about some sound effect upon grabbing vines. Do you mean that short music effect?

To be honest, I never thought about that one. Interesting... I think I'd agree with your theory that this sound says "you're doing it right!" :)

I would rather wonder what are the mosquitoes doing, but now, after some research I think they're just continuity nod towards the prequels of the game.

  • how do you get that cage at 4:36?

  • You must wait until later on in the game.

  • i need help hitting the lever in fairy glade on the door

i hit it but it doesn't open

  • Anytime you hit a switch, it HAS to be on screen or it doesn't register. Get the Pirate Henchman out of the way should you need to.

  • @Saestrol is this for part 2

  • @Saestrol i mean the lever on the big branch in fairy glum

  • is it me,or is this version exactly like the PC version? even the music is the same. You said in the description that the music is "quite different"....quite different from what version?

  • N64, the one most people know this game for.

  • What kind of program you use to make a video of this?

  • Depends. I usually say this on my channel for the curious.

  • Does anyone know where can I find that sound that plays 2:07-2:09? I can't find it anywhere!

  • it's weird and creative that u only get half and then later in the echoing caves u can go back to the fairy glades and get the rest of the lums and break that one cage. i was always curious how u break it and how u got in there. now i know.

  • how do you get that cage that you can't get until later in the game

  • When you reach a stage called "The Echoing Caves", there will be two paths you can take before the third part of the level.

A Teensie icon will appear telling you that the upper path will take you to the Fairy Glade, but a secluded section where the cage can be found, then you return back to the caves.

  • Haha me too. I just found this game for a PSX Emulator and am downloading it now. It takes about an hour to download, but its free. I'm so anxious to play it haha! reminds me of when I was 5 or 6. I'm 13 now and can remember bits and pieces of this amazing game lol.

  • oooooo.... I've been trying for the past half hour to get that cage xD K thx, won't waste my time any longer

  • You spelled "respond" wrong.

  • Once I had a bug in this level that Rayman didn't swim but walked under water and didn't need those air lums :D But he couldn't jump back up from the bottom :(

  • God, I used to love this game. Unfortunately, we only rented it once way back when I was way too young to know what to actually do. I just liked the pretty colors :D Now-a-days, I'm awesome at Rayman Arena racing. but I still want to play this again.

  • at 4:33 how u get that cage ???

  • Like I've said before: Split path at Echoing Caves.

  • I like the n64 version music better

  • yeah the n64 version is the original one i played

  • The PSX version was mauled to hell and back

  • This used to be my favorite game. Now, it is broken & I don't know where to find it in stores.

  • it reminds me of scaler or whatever his name was---well very minor but similar a tiny bit---

  • The best platformer on the dreamcast. This game stomped Sonic Adventure 1 and 2s nuts into nut pancakes.

  • Ouch...

  • rofl moskito looks funny ^^

  • could anyone please test these cheats (my game doesn't work anymore but I want to know if they work)

first you have push escape and than type this

"glowfist" should give you power up

    "gimmelife" should give you life

    "gimmelumz" should give you lums

"gothere" should open a new level

  • Well they work for the PC version. I must say I used them in the Nightmare Cave but it does not make Fun at all if you use them.

The game is pretty boring instead of funny

  • Sae, when you point out the differences between the n64 and dreamcast versions, how did you know? Do have a nintendo 64?

  • Yes. I own the original N64 version of the game, as well as the DS, The PS2 and PC versions.

In fact, I played through the N64 version and used some music from when I played it into my Dreamcast Playthrough.

  • Heh, I had the PC version. Shame there was some error where it wouldn't let me save. :( Every time I had to start over, farthest I ever got was just past Axel.

  • same thing here with that error :( i had to leave it on for days to finish the whole game

  • stupid pirate's need to be on the job and try to kill rayman but they just sleep while razorbeard gives them order's wow why do they need to sleep there just robots xD and nincopoop's *shot*

  • Rayman is so cool that he doesn't even have any arms or legs! He's so cool that he can get a new power and only have the use of it for ONE level. That's how cool he is.

  • 4:33, how can I open the box on the left in that little chamber?

  • This can only be done by linking here via Yhe Echoing Caves.

I do in fact perform this task when I do that level.

  • 6:18

sleeping on the job... in a dirty toxic waste... on a barrel...wierdo pirate...

  • I've played every version of Rayman 2 except the Dreamcast version.

    Too bad I haven't got a Dreamcast...

  • ah, this brings back memories... even though i played the 64 version :P

  • the map looks different from the ps1 version ( the 1 i had )

  • It is. The Dreamcast version uses the "Isles of Doors" instead of the Hall. It is also neat for that reason too.

  • i just remembered! no blue lums in PS2. just bubbles for brething

  • Oh yeah. I don't remember seeing any blue lums at all (interesting...). Carmen still drops those pockets of air though.

  • The Island is nifty, but I prefer the Hall. The Hall is oh so pretty.

I so do not remember swimming. It looks fun though.

  • it's odd. in PS2. at 2:00 there's a green coulored pirate and the same at 3:06 and 4:08.

if you didnt know. green pirate's are the weakest in the PS2 version. then come the next powerfuller the purple one's. the the yellow (chuck fire bomb's and keg's)

and then the hardest. the red pirate's!

    glad to be of help!

  • i just noticed! there's no purple pirate in the bit where you hsve to avoid the barrel's

  • The controls are really hard on PC grrrr

and I only bought it last week.

  • Wait - the great Escape was made for Dreamcast, N64, and PS3? B/c I have it for the latter 2, but I didn't realize it is available for Dreamcast. And each version is kinda different i guess too

  • Yeah the Platforms for the game go like this:

    N64, Dreamcast, PS1, GBA, PC, PS2, DS

I haven't seen the GBA version but I imagine it's completely different compared to the other 6. But no wonder this game is so huge. You could play it on almost every system back then!

  • Ha - true - this game is THAT awesome

  • what version is this?

i got it for the n64 but mine looks different.

could you send a PM so i know what to download?

  • nevermind about this.

i found out that the n64 has colour bugs but i activated something and everything whas good again =D

    no moar black lums >:(

  • Yeah? I've seen the game emulated a little bit but the idea of black lums sends me right to Rayman 3!

The N64 version is the most common and the one I'm playing here is Dreamcast.

  • ok i see also dreamcast looks better in grapichs.

to bad dreamcast emulaters are more complecated then project64.

  • Really? Do you use Project64?

If yes, what did you acticate?

  • Options > grafical plugin > advanced.

and at last check force alpha blending and you will have the normal colours

  • If Rayman can go through an adventure like this then he deserves to be in Brawl

  • Ya, I think Rayman would be cool to have in Brawl, too bad Ubisoft and Nintendo aren't that close.

  • i have a pc version saestrol ill try to find it then ill sell it one ebay for ya

  • Eh, me, I prefer the PC version. I have a good system that doesn't give me any problems graphically.

But ah, the Fairy Glade. I remember finishing this level when I was 8... so magical. (Yeah, the presence of Ly probably had something to do with it).

  • Do you know where I can find the PC version? I've been looking but it is practically non-existent now...

  • Can you say wich version has the better grphics? DC or PC?

  • I'm not sure. I just saw some screenshots of the PC version of the Marshes and they could be quite great.

  • yeah im talking bout familiar spirits witch are them blue things and 2nd thing!

saestrol? did you upload this in the morning? wats a lles of doors?

  • Er... yeah I meant to say "Isle of Doors". That would be the over world map you see at the beginning when you select a level. Instead of the Halls in the other ones, the DC Rayman 2 has an Island instead.

  • your vidoes are soo cool! can a double.. no wait triple subscribe to you?

  • What is an 'Iles of doors'? :)

  • what console is this on?

  • Again, I play the Dreamcast version.

  • wtf is dreamcast?

  • You arent a real gamer eh?

  • .... i am. i must play or i get crazy.

    games are my life!

  • a console. By Sega. You might know them for the Genesis and Sonic the Hedgehog.

  • Hey what is the song on the title menu called, or where can i download it?

  • For now, I'm going to assume that an OST does not exist. I mean I've looked and looked and nothing appears out of the number of reviews I find.

  • Does anyone know where i can get the ost for this game. I've been looking for it everywhere

  • yea but i think they look like worlms on PS2 a bit

  • some blue things in cages? i dont know if there on this version but its on PS2 (there called familiar spirirts)

  • Oh right. Yeah those come out of the cages in Revolution. You collect 10, then bring them to Ly who will give you a challenge to extend your energy when completed.

  • this level can be one heck of a challange for collecting the blue spirit thingys! :)

  • Blue spirits? What do you mean?

  • There are blue fairies in the cages in the PS2 version.

  • Aren't you talking about the little, blue fairys in the PS2 version?

  • THE MUSIC FREAKS ME OUT...

  • saestrol, how do you get the cage you missed out im stuck on trying to get it please help its the last cage i need to break

  • See the level "Echoing Caves" (which I have done). You can get it once that level is unlocked.

Basically, the cage is in the level, you can hear it, but the only way to get to the last one is through the Echoing Caves.

  • thanks a bunch i need 3 more lums to find now in prison ship

  • Have you found the last 2 lums and the cage?

  • They both have been located. Fact is, you come into the level briefly from the Echoing Caves, and then once you go through the obstacles, you will have it.

When I get to that level, you will see what I mean.

  • Hmm?

Well one of the cages are hidden away via another level. But other than that, I've actually got them.

Cage placement depends on the version I suppose. This is Dreamcast.
