After having read the BBC article on it, and seeing this, I can confidently attest that it is not going to be quite the "game changer" Zuckerberg seems to think it will be.
For one thing, everyone already uses normal e-mail. For another, some countries don't allow access to facebook, some institutions do not allow their members to have facebook accounts (and using fb message requires you to have an fb account), there is no subject line... the list goes on and on.
@malus40 And I know that the lack of subject line is, according to their spokespeople, an advantage, but honestly...? The subject line lets me know what the rest of the thing is about. I can quickly reach a decision about when I need to read the contents. If the subject line reads 'Untitled' I, more often than not, delete the message without reading it because omission of the subject line is damned inconvenient...
If "facebook messages" would let me send free sms anywhere in the world, I would definitely make a facebook account and tell all my friends, family, strangers, etc about it.. but.. that's never going to happen :(
Naah. The only cool thing is @facebook, But I do not like the simplicity! I'd rather stay with Google, since I have an Android phone, which is connected to my Google account all the time! :p
i hope we can EDIT the amount of auto decisions facebook makes for us?? geez, what if they're totally wrong of which mail i want to see?!! frequency=which on top? do we really want to know? i think its fine the way it is.. but we'll see.. :\
This is EXACTLY how myspace died. Too many things added onto it & too many unnecessary changes & ignorant people joining. Then came the spam & etc & then we all know what happened next. (RIP myspace)
