  • mmm chips ahoy

  • saw this movie at band camp, life changeing

  • Too bad this documentary is not better known. As far as I'm concerned, it's "must watch."

  • I get the point...and its True..all their saying there no real music that is out there, the music thats being played on the radio is overated and it bubblegum music.. whether its Rock or Hiphop..Music back then was more progressive,But now all you get is a Fall out boy and 3 chord progression and these guys are making millions off this..Hihop died like in early 2006..sure lil wayne is gettin money.but there no soul or essence in their music.. all you get is noise and Dj khaled or soulja boi =[

  • The whole idea behind this documentary is tired and lazy. It is trying to create a set of artificial binaries and simply dismissing music which does not fit certain completely arbitrary criteria (supported by weak and often contradictory arguments) as irrelevant/bad/evil. The ultimate rockist statement.

  • you should whatch the whole thing.

  • "There is a lot of dumbing-down going on....That's insane!"

    --it's buttnekkid...Wednesdays

    Such a revealing project:

There are times when the obvious should be reiterated, even if to show an inkling of respect to artists who genuinely earn it.

    Thank you.

  • Did they get Steven Wilson for this movie? Because if they didn't they should have.

  • Dave Mathews sucks

  • Like him or hate him, he's not a mainstream radio slave. it's a good movie you should whatch it.

  • Well I don't really listen to US radio, since I don't live there, but I'd be very surprised if he doesn't get played often,at least in some stations... but DMB are a jam band anyway, not a "radio" band. And, are you kidding? You don't get more mainstream than Dave Matthews. Did you know it is one of the 10 most popular artists on facebook?

  • His songs are played sometimes, but any DMB fan would know that his live stuff is a lot different than what you hear on the radio. He emprovises, he has songs that exeed 12 minnutes, and he has a sound all his own. Can you name me one artist/band that sounds remotely like him? Believe me, I was just like you not long ago. It wasn't till my brother started getting into him that I gave him a chance, only to find that the guy has a lot of soul. And being popular doesn't make you "mainstream" .

  • I could name you many artists that to me sound the same as DMB. But then you would probably disagree because, honestly I'm not into jam bands at all and I'd wouldn't pick up on differences that may be obvious to you. And sorry but yes, being widely popular does make you mainstream: He sells tons of records, does promotion, big tours, and is signed to a major label. You could argue that DMB isn't pop, isn't manufactured, and even that his music is unique, but without a question he is mainstream.

  • totalmente cierto... la musica que se comercializa es un asco

  • I wonder if i could make it to the top with my styles

  • awesome.

    people voted for bush.

people listen to clear channel stations.

    music is dying.

but i would normally throw dave matthews into that pop music group, so i'm suprised to see him in this.

  • sorry gave u a thumbs up meant it to be a thumbs down. just cuz u have success doesnt mean ure selling out. daves band is badass nway.

  • i didn't say that. i just say corporate pop music is clear channel supported. but i was talking more about how i felt that dave matthews plays very safe music in my opinion. it's cool he's anti-clear channel, but i still find his music poppy and safe.

  • I thought that before my brother started turning me on to him lately, I can't think of anything that sounds like the DMB.

  • i love what you've done. hooray for people who care about the artist that work hard and dedicate life to their passions.

  • This is simply false. Hendrix was discovered by an independent producer and recorded for an independent label (Track UK). Same for U2, independent label (Island UK/Ireland). Prince and Zeppelin would have succeeded quite well w/o major label promotion. LZ owes their US success to renegade FM disc jockeys who were willing to play an album all the way thru in the middle of the day.

  • Awesome. I really want to see it.

  • It is a 'pop trash' culture. That's all. Check out Andy Warhol's art. I love his "Oxidation" piece. It is very much representative of what is going on with this generation. Urine on canvas and it sells like hotcakes! :))) Shallow people morally blind society.

  • Only if you are the first to urinate on the canvas...

  • YES!!
