Give me that stupid fat rhyme, every time, describe a crime! god i loved this show, i watch it on IFC now, and they fuck it up with commercials. the format of the show just doesnt allow for ads, with the way that one sketch flows straight into the next. at least a new generation gets to see it.....what am i saying nobody watches IFC but me.
I didn't catch it the first time but the 2nd bit with the cockney guy talking about a drive-by then they turn the umbrellas sideways, lower them and spin them like tires, brilliant!!
Bob's gold tooth part is my fave, but every time I think of this sketch, I think about the hilariously weak-ass "I could...rap about this! I could rap about that!" part. And, like usual, David displays that he's got some pretty good pipes -- his songs are always enjoyable.
i watched this for the 100th time about a month ago and was frozen. yet again. i woke up hours later in the middle of the night in laughter. there has never been in my experience any troop that did a better job of tearing musical theater to shreds. when bob say's 'let's take it south,' it's just about all i can take. perfection.
mad tv is the shittiest show on the planet...I don't see why it should even be mentioned here...except for the fact that they seemed to do dumbed down versions of Mr. Show sketches, and would get away with it because the mad tv audience doesn't know about Mr. Show or any good comedy for that matter
Her name is Mary-Lynn Rajskub. She's on the show "24" on Fox. Don't you know anything about Mr Show!??? That's when Lincoln said, "Don't dis muh homies!" Check that one out. Called Van Hammersly.
What's your source? I seriously doubt that. They did old-timey and rap-related sketches all the time, so I think this just happened to be where the two crossed. Even in the case that you're correct though, it's not similar enough to constitute a rip-off.
When was the gangsta shop quartet sketch aired anyway?
@HomunConlus Mr. Show S2E2 aired for the first time on the 22nd of November 1996. MadTV's gangsta shop quartet aired for the first time on the 17th of May 1997. If anything, MadTV jacked their idea from Mr. Show.
@HomunConlus i just checked this out, the mr show skit actually was aired a full year before the mad tv skit, well know we know where mad tv got the idea anyway haha, also , why would someone post on a video without actually knowing if the imformation they were writing was correct? then again, why would someone reply to a 3 year old post
@johnnymccrowe and THAT my good sir, is why MadTV blows donkey balls and loves every microsecond of the sweet sensation of donkey scrotum against their oh so loving tongues! And the answer to your question is so insanely simple, it rivals the insanity of the Donkey Blow Job i have just described in exquisite detail here for you all (and especially you donkey lovers!) to enjoy! The answer is! *drum roll* PEOPLE ARE FUCKING IDIOTS! Thank you........ Thank you......

The "tophat" singers kind of reminds me of The Hitcher from Britain's The Mighty Boosh! The Hitcher is a cockney rapper!
Cockney is the extreme working class British accent featured in classics like Mary Poppins chimney sweeps!
