''#1 The film here says Anna had a virgin birth wirthout the help of Joachim & became with a child while Joachim was away on travels ? When Joachim was away Anna became of a child. I think this makes virgin Mary a Virgin birth !
The second one was the Jews in the temple would not let Samial or anybody in the Temple who has not had children ? The Heads of the Temple told Joachim that he had sinned by not having children ?
@turtle4aire That Mary WAS the Immaculate Conception is the traditional Catholic take on it. In the Gospel of Pseudo Matthew chapter 3, however, the angel says to Joachim, "know that she has conceived a daughter from THY SEED, and thou in thy ignorance of this hast left her." So it may be that the tradition is wrong. It is at least as inferred as it is implied. Nowhere does it specifically say that her conception was immaculate. Maybe Pseudo-Matthew was deliberately left out of the equation.
@Apocryphile1970 Apocry, I know you feel greatly as to holding up Jesus up on high, but when you hold Virgin Mary, Peter, and 300 Saints to be held up along side Jesus and say you should pray to them. You take away the true power of Jesus Christ and put it in a small man or women and say pray to the humans and not the true Jesus Christ ! Jesus will remember you on judgement day and ask you why did you do that ? i don't think Jesus will be happy with anyone who does this !
@turtle4aire Ummm... I'm a little confused. Did I say any of those things? For one thing, I am neither Catholic nor Protestant. I mentioned the Catholics with regard to the topic at hand because THEY are the ones who maintain the Immaculate Conception of Mary. Sorry for any confusion. I don't pray to men or saints or angels.
@turtle4aire And I hate to say it, but it's no secret at all. Just about everything we know about those who sacrificed in the temple was that they were INCREDIBLY judgmental when it came to things like this. There were scads of people who fell under the category of "The Excluded." You see, people with certain diseases, deformities, scars, mutilations, etc. were forbidden to enter the temple and were excluded from Temple worship (c.f. Deut 23, etc.) This is by NO means a stretch.
