I used to have all Lord Kitchener's records but this is the first time I have seen him, although they used to play his music at Nottinghill every year . The Best !!
I'm British and have written my dissertation on the music of these wonderful islands – I have fallen in love with your music, especially Lord Kitchener. Thank you so much.
Kitchie's Sugar BumBum is #1, the very best. All the others are only imitations. Not even close to Kitchie's Sugar. Class is Class and Kitchie knows Class. Thanks.
know what you mean , i remember being babysat by my cousin Tanya and her fella Robin and listening to this at a young age and thinking how amazing it was now i'm listening to it on a easter sunday whilst eating my breakfast at 41yr lol amazing how the path of life takes the strangest routes lol .........
Boy!!! I was in Trinidad that year and this was playing from every float and every panyard. Missing that old guy so much - know he is heaven still playing pan and wining down the place!! Blessing Lord Kitchener
I was fortunate to see him in Trini at the Lions Center I believe...I could be wrong. I just remember being under a tent and Lord Kitchener jammin' so. R.I.P. Lord Kitchener
lol laughter erupting from meh soul swear! i love this man and i love we trini culture so much eh ...hmmm this is where we need to get back to very soon to save this nation
This reminds me of being a young child and at family parties and dancing with my Granny ( Gone but never ever forgotten) This makes me smile and dance everytime.
Men like this are immortal. Physical form has come and gone, but the legacy cannot die. I for one have made sure that all of my friends listen to the classics (Roaring Lion, Pretender, Kitch, Sparrow, Bomber, Terror, etcetera).
These are African dance steps. It is incredible that culture last forever no matter what. By the way, this song was very popular in Africa back in the 80s. Thanks for the memories. Lord, you deserve your name, RIP
This footage is on the great documentary 'One Hand Don't Clap', Seek it out, if you haven't seen it. I was lucky enough to see my main man, Aldwyn Roberts, at the Calypso Monarchy in 94(?). The year when 'No Wuk fuh Carnival' and 'Pan Earthquake' were out. I've also danced to this tune in Toronto during Caribana. Wonderful, but Kitch had many wonderful songs.
The Grand Master himself! - a treasure to the entire Caribbean.! Rest in Peace Lord Kitchener. This song was my introduction to kaiso has a little kid - '79 I think.
Always loved his music but this is the first time I am seeing a video of him. Beautiful voice but not very easy on the eyes but he was the best. Flag woman; I was about 8 when that one came out my fav.
