@S052970057 ooohhh yeeeahhh! thats the life man, u r so lucky! what a chillout paradise! i remember! took it for granted when i was growing up there in the early 90s. there was nothing for a kid to do, except rent movies, or run around on the mainly deserted beaches, few tourists, some ok shops, few diamond shops. remember when there were no tall buildings? when it was a real desert? when i see the pics and video im amazed, its a different world, so much more exciting now! miss waking up to sun!
My dream is coming to an end soon too. University calls for international studies abroad - no more Dubai for a while. But I understand what you mean about the old Dubai - who would've known it would've become like that someday? I've only been here 3 years... and the change is MINDBLOWING. Really incredible.
@S052970057 id love to return for a bit of nice long holiday, and maybe part time residence in a few years when im more successful in life and settled. just out of uni a few years myself, hard livin makes dubai a far off dream paradise for now. though i dont know if i could live permanently under a dictatorship, even when growing up in single digit years, i remember feeling not fully free, under an invisible but powerful, ruthless, even brutal thumb though i didnt see it, i felt it, unnerving..
@mikefan09 Aah, dictatorship - I don't think I can say I have seen such a liberal monarchy as rich and powerful as the one put in place in Dubai. It is dictatorship nonetheless, but it could be worse (look west at Saudi Arabia).
As for a successful life? I wish you all the best, and good luck with the future.
@S052970057 many thanks S05, the best to you as well, in your studies and life. agree it is a pleasant dictatorship, beautiful place, and liberal, i used to feel so comfortable there, but also now and again i would remember that this is a place with some strict limits on what i was used to doing freely, like walking down the street with girlfriends wearing short tight shorts or just hanging in a mixed group, and showing affection in public. theres been some cases of that kind, sure SA is worse
@frazblue2 Uae , India , Srilanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Puerto Rico, Cuba , Florida .. Most of them were nicer beaches; But when you look behind you toward the city nothing to see. In Dubai u see the Burj and an amazing skyline
hey am farah from beirut. i'v ben to dubai and really it was amazing especialy the beaches like jomira. might visit dubai again on december 2009, any advise guys where the best places to visit any new places where u can relax and forget the world around u?

As surprising as this may seem... it is in real life just like the video. No cheats, no edits. Always sunny, always shiny, always Dubai. :)
