Well...You have the running in shot. I can't explain it....I will try. You have the ball, and someone is standing in front of the korf. You play the ball to that person, than you run to the korf, get the ball, and you score. It's hard to explain evrything, you have to see it...It's called 'doorloopbal' in Dutch. Enough video's. Sorry for the bad English.
@ruben588 haha that's a joke,, ok, the only thing I can agree on is that korfball players have better aim,, but how would that be surprising, considering that half the game consists of range shooting.
you have to consider the different shooting techniques,, korfballers can use a very stable two-handed shooting motion,, whereas nba players only aim with one hand, plus generally they have to jump during their shot
anyway, I'd say korfballers would get blocked in their face even before the shot
@Lolznator You're right about the first two parts... But the third, believe me, korfballers know how to deal with "blockers". Because half of the game consists of getting into a position where you are allowed to shoot.
Generally korfballers don't shoot when a opponent is too close, because if you do shoot, you'll be blocked or making a foul...
This way korfballers learn how to get into these "free" positions better than basketballers...
@bluejie11 I disagree on this one. Basketball defenders generally have to be tougher, cuz they have to defend the threat of both dribble and shot. In other words, if a basketball defender faces a korfball player, he will only have to defend the shot, which is relatively easier.
Also, you're generally not bothered with helpside defense
But i'm gonna stop arguing ;) It's just my opinion. Please by all means, enjoy playing korfball, it is a very nice sport, it's just not made for me.
@ruben588 you realise at Korfball Challenge (a tournament in Holland towards the end of the year) they tested a new rule called the 2 point line; similar to basketballs 3 point line. Different is, a korfball post is 11 and a half ft tall, and the 2 point line was 7 or 8 metres out. I'd like to see basketball players hit that, with no backboard.
Veel mensen denken dat korfbal heel simpel is, maar zonder zo'n plaat achter de ring en zonder te lopen is het naar mijn mening toch wat moeilijker dan basketbal.
