  • wow the Chinese are strict, i'm not to sure if that's a good thing or bad thing.

  • America no easier the teachers may not be as strict but in the long run you wont make it far life not working hard. You just have to realize that in my school i work very hard not to achieve the bare minimum but the very best.

  • 5:36 kevjumba

  • The elementary principal is a very good example of transformatinoal leadership. These kids are so lucky to haev such a school and such loving teachers. So many US kids really miss out on this type of education. In the US we are taught ideas, but not life skills.. we cannot even balance our own finanaces. Proof of that is the financial issues plaguing us now. With this type of transformational leadership, things could be so just better.

  • the teacher's english is great!

  • after watching theses videos i have come to the realization that american schools need much stricter curriculums. i myself am a junior in high school and after watching this i feel i have been cheated out of education almost.

  • I Just Hate 5:28 !!! Don't Do That!!

  • okokok sooo i mean nothing horrid by this but in my old english first school& my other american day school we were told off if we ate like that, :S i dont understand how they can be so strict when washing up and other things, but not say something about eating .

  • @fromoxfordwithluv Different cultures have different ways of eating.

  • they should teach kids how to eat properly, is disgusting to see chinese chewing like pigs

  • @Jdc73112 Did your parents teach you how to speak and behave like a human being? It is so disgusting to see stupid ass like on youtube! Also, please check your damn grammar. Are you so damn stupid that you can not even make it right?

  • Actually even with the 'One child policy' having a sibling is not rare at all. The only thing is that parents cant afford to have another child with the expenses and all. My dad's uncle who is around fifty (i think) has 9 kids. 9. His youngest son is only 19 this year.

  • Wish they didn't show the part where the guy have a squealing pig on the back of his motorcycle....totally ruined it for me.

  • I love it

  • they got better uniforms than we did, we just got trackies and it was in beijing, glad i only went to school for 1 year before i went to england though, english primary school soo easy :D

  • These kids from poor families are so humble and independent....they are totally adorable.... all the spoiled brats should learn something here and appreciate what they have(stop complaining)

  • 9:33 OMG Perfect hand writing!!

  • it's really a tough learning experience for the kids. Hope they can get through these tough years, and have a bright future. =)

  • scheisse übersetzung.. viel sind falsch!

  • Does anyone know the origin of the scout (red) scarves? I see them worn by school children in all communist countries.

  • they don't allow them to have a brother or sister!...sad and lonely

  • If primary school is this strict, then imagine what military school is like? D:

Still, I love their motivation... it makes me sad that most American kids are concerned with who's dating who.

  • I wonder how a foreigner would go about donating to these charity-run primary schools.

  • i support communism but competition is everywhere what an oxymoron

  • Sad that children are brain washed from birth to love the Communist party! What a culture shock it must be when they come to America and they can fart without getting permission from the Government.

  • @GhostWritersDragon You underrated human beings if you think they can be so easily brain washed.

  • @encoregirl66 It's quite easy to brainwash a child. Think of all the KKK members children, Hitler Youth etc...etc...aren't they fine examples of brainwashing??? I know of course that some of these kid's on this program aswell as many others are going to wake up and see that what they were taught was wrong, but many won't and many people from many different cultures, religions, etc...haven't and therefore will continue teaching the next generation a flawed belief system. That's all I'm saying.

  • @GhostWritersDragon How is the US any better? I'd rather be "brainwashed" into working hard and loving my country, than to be taught that gays and muslims are evil. And I'm not from China or America, though I've lived in both countries.

  • @liepzig thanks for writting what i exactly had in mind!

  • @GhostWritersDragon No offence and all, but you're speaking from a very stereotypical point of view. Have you ever being to China? Dont speak for things you havent experienced yourself.

  • @Hope4freedom76 I'm only expressing my opinion....of this boy on here reciting the Communist songs etc...I don't know about you but the school curriculum shouldn't be bombarded with any religious or political view (including the USA and all religions) School itself should be about knowledge and not have any agenda tied to it...the way many schools do. (Including my own elementary school)

  • The Kids are soo sweet

  • Very good school

  • "Who is Chairman Mao"? I don't know. Oh wait! He was one of the bravest men in the world"..so cute.the kid. but you know he's talking bull.

  • omg this is crazy. i used to attend a private school in south india where the study schedule was intense. we had the normal regular classes until 4 pm and after that, compulsory participation in sports and then dinner and then 2 hours of studying in the classroom again. it was bad. this was repeated on weekends too. i'm so glad i moved to a different school after 7th grade.

  • very awesome series. thanks for the uploads and keep it up!

china's strength is in its unity and discipline. reminds me of spartans

  • very good to see another country teach its youngings and to see how their system works really good series.

  • I'm so glad my parents immigrated to America! I thought I was hard working student, these kids make me seem so lazy; they study till 10:00PM everyday. These Chinese kids are like miniature adults. I am really LUCKY to be in America, so much freedom to develop my self without conforming to a rigid system. I do admire these studious kids for their tenacity, I couldn't bear it. Wonderful series, hope BBC does a series for Chinese students living in the city.

  • @Starwins Also, you wouldn't have YouTube ;) It's blocked in China, along with Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia...etc.

  • @forromanovfund We literally wouldn't have any of those. Those are products of the US, from students who are "lazy" in comparison to the Chinese students. Rigor is important, but its not everything.

  • @Starwins Sometimes so much freedom can have side effect. Each society has its own roots and reason to be presented as what we see.

  • @Starwins Uhn, no. I'd preffer to be in China than America where people are racist against different cultures and color of skin. Freedon? Yeah sure. At least there are hard workers, such an example of what my own country needs.

  • @Starwins LOL in america Obviously you take all the easy classes. When you get to highschool, AP classes will fuck you up so hard you'lll realize its about the same.

  • @Starwins Are you sure about that? Hard work brings more innovation and prosperity to a individual. You don't expect to sit on your ass everyday and think someone will pay you.

  • @zen5678 hard work may not always bring more innovation and prosperity to a individual, but if you dont work hard, in this competitive society, especially in China, you will have nothing....

  • awesome! awesome! awesome!

  • gao kao !

  • Such an amazing series! Thank you!
