Being, Meaning & Time are man-made concepts that are so hard-wired into my human DNA that trying to grasp what nothingness is seems physically, intellectually & existentially impossible.

its one of the greatest scenes i`ve ever seen in supernatural. the actor who plays the death is very good. it seems like he was born for that part. when i saw that scene the first time i was banned on the screen.
Everytime I see this I can't help but imagine only his skull being there. It being only skin draped over his skull doesn't help, either. The actor just seems so perfectly... apathetic.
Like the character says in the clip, it's a chicken or egg situation. God is alive, so depending on your point of view, Death might precede the first living thing.

I find the death slaying God concept very interesting... I would think when people stop believing in God or Gods that the God in a sense dies. Is not Zeus and Ra and all the ancient gods in a way died? It is very thought provoking...

I really like this show, but i was shocked from the part where they say god will die too. i find that very shockingly false and disrespectful to religion, us, and god too. And i have no idea why or from where the writers got this idea from, but its pretty naive. Thumbs up if you feel the same way about this

When something starts, it must end, when something lives, it must die, that's how it works. I don't see how in any way shape or form that's disrespectful.
Death was incredibly intimidating in this episode. You never knew if he was going to suddenly snap and just kill Dean. I'd like to see him return in future episodes, perhaps as a main antagonist? Or even more interestingly as a recurring ally.

You know, this is why media companies shouldn't get so pissy about people uploading stuff to Youtube. I watch this scene and it makes me want to go out and buy the whole series in a DVD boxset. Sure I could hunt around for more free clips on Youtube, and maybe piece together a season or two on my own, but it'd be a time-consuming pain. Instead, I watch one or two clips and then head over to Amazon or whatever to buy the series when it's available. If the CW is smart, they'll see that too.

Death clearly says that he'll reap god and that god- like everything- will die someday. I don't see why he should lie to Dean. It's not like he tries to impress him with his powers or wants him as a follower. He simply wants Lucifer recaptured so he won't bother him any longer.
I suspect death and god have a bragging match on-who is more powerful than the other. But its all kinds of obvious one can't exist without the other. Supernatural's death is kinda awesome though. Want to see him again and again.

To me life is about creation and birth, growing, feeding, changing. How could this ever work when nothing ever dies? @pkwy28 Nah in this case, God was born, but humans just can't process 'how': hell they can't even see how an angel looks like. Death is beyond time. Time is created and controlled by God. This way, Death CAN Reap God, and still exist (in a world without Time or just with some other concept). Another thing is how humans and angels and whatever ONLY know of Death and God's existence: think about it... there could be more.

Death clearly says that he'll reap god and that god- like everything- will die someday. I don't see why he should lie to Dean. It's not like he tries to impress him with his powers or wants him as a follower. He simply wants Lucifer recaptured so he won't bother him any longer.

That guy was probably the creepiest guy I've ever seen on TV.
But I have to admit that he's an incredible actor, and his portrayal of Death is excellent.
It kinda scares me how real it is.
Chicago is saved by the PIZZA. :D haha

I suspect death and god have a bragging match on-who is more powerful than the other. But its all kinds of obvious one can't exist without the other. Supernatural's death is kinda awesome though. Want to see him again and again.

It's funny how Death says that Dean can't cheat death. Sam and Dean have been dying a lot in the past episode and seasons. lol. Remember they went to heaven and their pal was monitoring them. Hilarious. =D

Wow.. I cannot understand the people writing that death is a bad thing und life could exist without it.
To me life is about creation and birth, growing, feeding, changing. How could this ever work when nothing ever dies? Stopping death is like stopping time and go from living to just existing without purpose, never needing anything or anyone. Why find a partner to procreate if we don't die? Why eat if we don't starve? That's not life, that is a framed photograph.

Also death is not the opposite of life, it is the opposite of birth. And death and birth are essential for life to exist in the first place because life is a process, not a condition.

The end of life (God) is to cease the function of death. So for death to reap God is to end himself. There can be no death without life. Too many implications behind the notion of God’s death, technically speaking God was never born, and may not even be “alive” .

@pkwy28 Nah in this case, God was born, but humans just can't process 'how': hell they can't even see how an angel looks like. Death is beyond time. Time is created and controlled by God. This way, Death CAN Reap God, and still exist (in a world without Time or just with some other concept). Another thing is how humans and angels and whatever ONLY know of Death and God's existence: think about it... there could be more.

Death was very impressive... great acting
Actually one of my favourite character in the hole show
